  • 2. Favorite Pokemon game: Black and White.

    More practice/warmup as I recover from Covid. Might turn this one into a sticker; I like how it turned out.

  • **Character**: Father

    _Stepping out into the light, feeling the warm rays on his face, it was a nice moment in the world of nightmares._

    --

    One of my favorite pieces during the previous summer with Father being more loose and enjoying the sun-filled rays. He doesn't seem to notice how much the water pulled at his threads though, and definitely took note for the next time he went to swim.

    --

    **Group Context:**
    ```XXVIII. Sunny Soprano
    Prompt B || Vanillish Cones & Oshawott Pops || 25wc + Never-melt Ice
    Although this time of year is bound to bring trouble, Seth manage to dug up an old ice-cream maker with the help of Cassidy. Together, they manage to make a number of ice cream batches, ranging from the classic flavors to the ... questionable variant. What your tenant gets is entirely up to the scooper, so don't complain to them if your strawberry ice cream has bits of raw meat instead of strawberry chunks.
    Draw/Write your tenant enjoying some frozen delectable goodness from the Manor dining room. The flavor of your tenant's ice cream can be whatever you desire.
    This prompt can be completed 3 times per character.
  • With everything that is going on right now, I figured that now would be the perfect time to share a wholesome, cute drawing of an Oshawott dancing in the rain. Care to join them?
    This took a little longer than expected to finish due to life getting in the way. Regardless, I'm surprised at myself for managing to finish the drawing up to the completion of the flat colors phase within several hours of starting it. (Not from scratch, mind you, as my starting point was after I added a majority of the layers I was going to use during the sketching phase as well as my references 2 days prior to me actually starting the drawing.) Even so, this was a pretty fast turnaround as I typically take 1 week + to finish a drawing, regardless of its simplicity or complexity. I had a lot of fun putting this together and putting my brain into high gear to get Oshawott's pose to work the way I wanted to. It all came down to shading them the right way in order to properly portray them dancing. When it came to the umbrella, I pulled it straight from my memory and winged it. I also winged it when it came to adding the key chain and the charm to the end of the umbrella's pole.
  • I've had this idea for quite some time and I wanted to draw this after catching a shiny Oshawott in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Coincidentally, since Samurott was added to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet today via, a Tera Raid, I figured now would be the best time to get this drawing done. This is also the first time I've ever drawn a human being (Half-body, but even so.) and I thought, what better way to start than to draw myself? Needless to say, I still need a lot more practice drawing humans in general. But, it's not too bad for a first attempt.
  • Two Oshawotts who are very close friends decide to spend the day together. Considering that today's a bright and sunny day, they both went to a nearby balloon stall and bought themselves a balloon to play with. After paying for their balloons, the owner of the balloon stall was kind enough to tie the balloon strings to their wrists so that they wouldn't fly away as they went about their day. After thanking the balloon stall owner, they happily skipped off together and basked in the sunshine as they spent the day together. Overall, it was uneventful, but they didn't care as they were happy just hanging out, being with each other, and enjoying the nice, beautiful weather while playing with their bright colored balloons.
    I figured that I draw one more thing before the end of 2024, featuring my favorite otter-like Pokemon, skipping along as they're enjoying the beautiful sunny weather! This drawing also serves a very special purpose for me as it will serve as my example art for when I open up art commissions in early 2025!
    This is my first attempt at drawing anything from scratch. Oshawott is my 2nd favorite Pokemon behind Snivy and considering the fact that its design has simple shapes with circles and some polygonal triangles, Oshawott would be the perfect Mon to start putting my skills to the test. I'm still new to the art world and there is still much to learn and improve on, but I'm happy with my first attempt.
    My allergies have been kicking my butt over the past 2 weeks and they have been driving me crazy. Despite that, they gave me the idea to draw this. This also gave me time to get used to drawing with my new One by Wacom tablet as my handwriting leaves a lot to be desired. (Thank God for stabilizers, am I right?) This took a few days to finish as there were a lot of things I wanted to do and after watching a YouTube video on perspectives with basic shapes, I wanted to apply what I've learned to a few things here which are the nightstand, the box of tissues, and to an extent, the bed as well. I also played around with Krita's pre-set brushes for pretty much everything, from the carpet to the walls, to Oshawott's blanket, to Oshawott's hand-crafted Snivy plush toy, and more. Overall, despite this being the first thing I drew with the One by Wacom tablet, this turned out great, in my opinion. I still have much to learn and improve on for future drawings, that's for sure.
  • At an elementary school in Unova, two 3rd grade school kids who each have an Oshawott went on a field trip with the rest of their peers for their history class to Jubilife City in Sinnoh. The purpose of this trip is to learn of Oshawott's origins like where they originally came from, how they lived, and what eventually lead them to migrate to Unova, where they can be found in abundance to this day. The secondary purpose of this field trip is to learn how Jubilife City first started off as Jubilife Village back in ancient times when Sinnoh was referred to as Hisui. When the students and teachers arrived at Jubilife City, the citizens of the city were setting up for the Jubilife Historical Parade, which is an annual event to celebrate the history of Jubilife and the town's origins. This includes parading many parade floats and parade balloons down the streets of Jubilife City, showcasing a recreation of what it was like when Jubilife City was known as Jubilife Village. The parade balloons show off the Pokemon who were once native to this ancient land including; Decidueye, Samurott, Typhlosion, Zoroark, Lilligant, Goodra, Basculegion, and many more. During the parade, the narrator will share some history on each parade float and balloon to the audience as the floats and balloons pass by.
    Before the parade began, the Unova history class arrived at a nearby Pokemon Center so that everyone could let their Pokemon out of their Pokeballs so that they can go play and get some exercise after the long plane ride from Unova. When the two elementary school kids let their Oshawotts out of their Pokeballs alongside their classmates, they told them to behave themselves and to not wonder off while they went to the parade. The two Oshawotts nodded in understanding what their Trainers asked of them. When they were let outside alongside the other students' Pokemon, they saw what looked to be a giant flying Samurott in the distance. Curious, they made their way towards the flying Samurott, making sure to blend in with the other Pokemon so that they can't be seen escaping the Pokemon Center grounds. Upon successfully escaping, they reached where the giant flying Samurott was located and saw that it has lots of strings tied to it. One of the Oshawotts pulled on one of the many strings and the Samurott bobbed like a balloon would if one were to pull its string while it's flying. Realizing what this Samurott really was, Oshawott informs their friend that this Samurott is actually a big, bouncy balloon. With excitement in their eyes, both Oshawotts grabbed onto a different balloon string and began climbing up until they reached the top of the balloon. Upon doing so, they noticed how squishy and bouncy it really is, but before they could begin bouncing on the big Samurott balloon, it lurched forward a little bit, throwing them off balance, but luckily, they didn't fall off and they weren't scared of the sudden lurch. So, they sat down, got comfortable, and enjoyed the ride as the Jubilife Historical Parade began.
    As the parade progressed, one of the human organizers who was monitoring things from the many rooftops of the city, noticed the two stray Oshawotts riding on the Hisuian Samurott parade balloon. They informed their boss of their findings, but were advised to leave them be as stopping the parade mid-route could scare the Oshawotts enough to panic and fall off the balloon, getting seriously hurt in the process or worse. Rather than cause mass hysteria for everyone, they'll monitor the Oshawotts movements and make sure that they don't cause trouble. When the parade ended, the humans handling the Hisuian Samurott balloon anchored it down and then slowly lowered it down towards ground level so that the two Oshawotts can safely climb off when it was low enough to the ground. Once that happened, the two Oshawotts hopped off without a care in the world and ran back to the Pokemon Center where they were supposed to stay at in the first place. Shortly after they got back, all the students, including their Trainers, arrived to pick them up and take them to a nearby hotel where they were staying for the rest of the festivities. When they met up with their Trainers, they asked their Oshawotts if they were good and if they had fun. They nodded "Yes", but one wouldn't say that they were "good" because of their little stunt today, not like that they could tell them anyway, even if they wanted to. And so, all the students and their Pokemon set off for the nearby hotel for some well deserved R&R!
    I'm making a short story involving Soka the Oshawott and his jumbo beach ball over the years and this is the first of several pages I'll be working on overtime. When more pages are made, I'll be sure to link them here so that you can view the full story when it finishes eventually.
    When it came to making this, it took some time to figure out the right perspective for Soka in relation to his jumbo beach ball, but I'm very pleased with the results. I was going to try adjusting him after I finished shading him, but after attempting to do so, he looked flat and so, I stuck with what I had. The lake in the background was originally going to be the sky, but after seeing with the default Water Stamp brush in Krita could do, I changed my mind on the spot and I'm glad I did! The lake turned out great, especially after I added sunlight via, the airbrush tool! (Man, I love the airbrush so much, if you couldn't tell.) Taking what I've learned about transparency from one of my previous art pieces, [Snivy's Balloon Adventure](https://www.deviantart.com/therealgeneralsnivy/art/Snivy-s-Balloon-Adventure-914508289), I applied the same sort of techniques with the transparent stripes on Soka's jumbo beach ball.
    Speaking of the beach ball, this allowed me to redeem myself as I was able to draw a closed valve this time as opposed to the last beach ball I drew which I couldn't do before. After I finished drawing the jumbo beach ball, I realized that it sort of looked like the Quick Ball, but it's a Jumbo beach ball, which I found to be really neat. (The obvious difference is that the ball has transparent stripes, while the Quick Ball doesn't as it's mostly solid blue all around.)
    This was a lot of fun to put together as Oshawott is my 2nd favorite Pokemon next to Snivy and I really wanted to draw them again! Hope you are all looking forward to the eventual continuation of this short story! Enjoy!
  • I got inspired to draw this after seeing one of the (Almost) Daily Oshawott tweets by [@/FrostyAlmonds (aka, AL (With an L) on Twitter)](https://twitter.com/FrostyAlmonds) and I wanted to draw something like that, but go further and put my own spin on it. Plus, practice drawing Oshawott in various positions and different facial expressions for most of them. [Here's the tweet that inspired this drawing.](https://twitter.com/FrostyAlmonds/status/1637921957634248705)
    As mentioned previously, I wanted to get in more practice drawing Oshawott, drawing them in various poses, and giving them different facial expressions. After drawing the first one, drawing the rest didn't take as long due to the fact that I was able to copy and paste various parts of their body and redraw certain parts as needed. This, of course, was done during the sketching phase of the drawing as doing it during the line art phase would've been disastrous due to the fact that the line art is a paint layer, and transforming it would greatly reduce its overall quality. (For those wondering, I don't know how to use Vector layers to draw things in Krita.)
    As for the background, I wanted to practice drawing more of a perspective landscape as I haven't drawn something like this in a while. I could've gone with a sky background, filled with fluffy clouds + the sun, and be done with it, but I wanted to attempt something more and I like the way this turned out. As for the pine trees, I remember seeing a tutorial on drawing trees somewhere (Although, I can't remember where, exactly) and tried to recall the part of it where I had to break it down into its simplest shapes, and then work from there. I also messed around with one of the default grass patch brushes in Krita to add details to the trees and it worked surprisingly well, thanks to the different blending modes such as Multiply, Screen, Burn, etc.
    Overall, this took several days to finish and it was a fun project! The experience gained for everything was well worth it and it'll be useful for future drawings!
