I'm making a short story involving Soka the Oshawott and his jumbo beach ball over the years and this is the first of several pages I'll be working on overtime. When more pages are made, I'll be sure to link them here so that you can view the full story when it finishes eventually.
When it came to making this, it took some time to figure out the right perspective for Soka in relation to his jumbo beach ball, but I'm very pleased with the results. I was going to try adjusting him after I finished shading him, but after attempting to do so, he looked flat and so, I stuck with what I had. The lake in the background was originally going to be the sky, but after seeing with the default Water Stamp brush in Krita could do, I changed my mind on the spot and I'm glad I did! The lake turned out great, especially after I added sunlight via, the airbrush tool! (Man, I love the airbrush so much, if you couldn't tell.) Taking what I've learned about transparency from one of my previous art pieces, [Snivy's Balloon Adventure](https://www.deviantart.com/therealgeneralsnivy/art/Snivy-s-Balloon-Adventure-914508289), I applied the same sort of techniques with the transparent stripes on Soka's jumbo beach ball.
Speaking of the beach ball, this allowed me to redeem myself as I was able to draw a closed valve this time as opposed to the last beach ball I drew which I couldn't do before. After I finished drawing the jumbo beach ball, I realized that it sort of looked like the Quick Ball, but it's a Jumbo beach ball, which I found to be really neat. (The obvious difference is that the ball has transparent stripes, while the Quick Ball doesn't as it's mostly solid blue all around.)
This was a lot of fun to put together as Oshawott is my 2nd favorite Pokemon next to Snivy and I really wanted to draw them again! Hope you are all looking forward to the eventual continuation of this short story! Enjoy!
