    🙥 Roast Slink with side dishes 🙧

    The Solorius Festival is a monumental celebration to honor the previous year's ascended Daevas and their service to humanity. It is not only one of the year's most anticipated events, but also one of the oldest. Its origin dates back to before the Cataclysm. It is a festival of communion, sharing, and appreciation. Wealth and status are set aside each year as families make diligent preparations in advance to honor the ascended. Many Atreians make their travel to their capital citys to immerse themselves in the festivities. One of such is to get a good share of the seasonal foods as gingerbread, filled cookies and pay a visit to the world-renowned bakers of Sanctum and Pandaemonium with their impressive cakes whose recipes are kept secret throughout all this time. Though for many Asmodians, where travel is unthinkable, more humble solutions will do, saving up for this very season and for their families and community to enjoy self baked goods and big portions.
    One of such, is Roast Slink, optional varnished with Kikra Sauce to compliment the season. For this, freshly hunted Slink will be firmly cleaned, before braised with hot water, so the outer film of moist skin can be easily shed. Roasted whole over an open fire, till reaching the desired color of a good roast, the head will be cut off and used together with the bone and cartilage used for purposes. The skin will be plated, same as the finer shredded meat parts, followed by the forged tail tips, legs, rib and prime back meat. Delicious with its mild flavor and a texture most similar to Qooqoo wings. The taste and texture of Slink meat is approximately between Qooqoo and fish, most similar to catfish like Pujery. It also doesn't turn out rubbery, as Monitor can turn out, if prepared poorly. The succulent, juicy meat works great on its own, but as a season special, Kira Sauce is a really nice compliment, by color and its not too sweet or tart. Easily cooked with same Kikra fruit, sugar, salix oil and two parts of water, its a true delight.

    🙥 Raydam Curry 🙧

    The Raydam is an apple like, juicy fruit found in Altgard, that is more sweet and mild in its’s taste than source. The small bush likes to grow on sandy, meadowy grounds, where enough of the pale sunlight reaches it leaves and fruits, as well as keeping the roots warm.
    Though surly it can be eaten raw, Raydam also makes for a very easy and good curry, to keep one spiced up and warm, while not missing out on a sweet touch.

    🙥 Chikra Sandwich 🙧

    Using a soft, mild and tender bread, made by scaling a portion of the flour in a recipe with boiling water. This method gelatinizes the starch, making the crumb of the bread soft and airy, so it stays not only softer for longer, but the loaf gains a nicely baked ‘skin’ instead of a crust. The dough is also left to rise at a low temperature for a long time, before a long steaming process, which gives it its moist and mellow texture. Before using it as the base of the sandwich, it is recommended to toast the slices of bread, giving it a crisp surface.
    Next up is the Chikra. A very versatile plant, found in Morheim and prefers temperate and warm, sandy ground. It doesn't need much water and is salt tolerant. Harvested and used for its cabbage like properties, it also makes for nice raw use. Clean and cut one big leaf as a first layer.
    The next layer will be that of Hasia leaves. Hasia is a fresh herbal plant, mostly used in the field of alchemy and if rumors are true, even for making secret remedies. It too shares traides with the former mentioned Chikra, though its distribution is at the Salintus Desert. Known for the huge, bulbous, succulent stem it shares with other members of its herbal family, this plant's water reserve is easy to spot at deserts grounds.
    Now to our four Qooqoo eggs. Cracked and whisked in a bowl with some salt, they then will be fried without any further disturbance, other than folding it . Bit by bit, the rest of the mixture will be added, creating a rolled omelet. For a final touch, the folded omelet sides will be fried, while also pressing it into shape. Let it cool for about 5 minutes, to achieve a nice clean cut.It will make for the centerpiece of the Sandwich, which means next up is again a layer of Hasian and then Chikra.

    🙥 Mosbear Soup 🙧

    Standing taller than any human or Daeva, the bipedal Mosbear is an impressive and defensive beast. Living in temperate forests and swamps, up to the freezing cold and snowy slopes of Beluslan, they are the apex predators of their domain. Thick skin and make their muscular bodies quite hard to pierce. Their pelts grow especially dense and in some species quite bristly around their neck and shoulder area. In cubs this still outgrowing fur stands up like a mohawk. Some Mosbear types grow large tusks, while all of them, no matter their sex, possess one or two sets of horns reaching adulthood. Despite their feral and fierce appearance, that might suggest a rather simple mind, Mosbears are said to be intelligent, when not hunger driven. One mosbear in particular is reported for even fighting alongside Daeva, to get rid of invading Balaur, suggesting this individual also being a few hundred years old.
    Beside tales and legends, Mosbears serve a quite down to earth use for humans. Skin and hide make for durable, protective and insulating clothing, as well as carpets and tents. While heads can be fabricated into caps and trophies favored by hunters.Tusks and horns find their use in accessories and decoration. Their slightly sweet meat is rich in vitamins, iron and proteins, though knowing how to prepare and cook it is essential, to not only end up with a tender, but also free from parasites meal.     🙥 Fried Sparkie with side dishes 🙧

    The Sparkie is one of the bigger bugs and found throughout many parts of Atreia. Like its bigger cousin the sparkle, it emits light a bright yellow, green or blue light due to the luciferin pouches located on its rear. Both kinds of this big Arthropods, come in many variends, always well adjusted to their environments and highly symbiotic. Only half the size of the Sparkle, the Sparkie is mostly found airborne, but more often than not, found in the presents of the bigger Sparkle, that they were once to believed to be of the same kind, only with extreme sexual dimorphism, with the Sparike being the male and the the Sparkle the female representative of the species. This false belief is only upheld by those never handling or using these bugs for its many uses. The luciferin is widely used as a light source and the slimy sap of the Sparkie can be used in making detergents by mixing it with herbal powder. The eggs can be harvested from both species and burst in your mouth when bitten. Freshly served they are considered the caviar of the commoner.Thought to be a poor class food, the Sparkie made its appearance in even the noble establishments of the main city. With only its luciferin pouches removed, the whole bug then will be fried and presented as a juicy, rustic dish, mostly served with soy sauce and vegetable centered side dishes.

    Puchida Salad - an easy, rather random salad of all available vegetables. Different leaf vegetables and cabbage types, onions, root vegetables, bell pepper, tomatoes, and even mushrooms. Even eggs can be added. When not served dry, the go to dressing is made from issued Raydam, sugar and natural water.

    🙥 Zeller Powder Soup with Merone Seed Powder🙧

    Native to Morheim, Beluslan and Brusthonin, Zeller is also one of those plants, forming big bulbs as storage, but compared to Briga, Horto or Krimer, it's not edible. Instead, it's the stem and young flowers that will be used in different dishes or cooked and mashed for further use. One of these can be drying and grinding it into powder or flour. For this, the plant parts will be separated and sliced, before dried until brittly. Pestled and stored in glasses or clay pots,it is not only saved from spoiling easily, but also very versatile. One of those used is to mix the powder with salt, pepper and eggs, before the paste is brewed with hot water, bit by bit while firmly stirred. The result should be a foamy, smooth soup without splitting the egg in bigger chunks.
    An easy to make, mineral and vitamin rich soup, especially outside the harvest times.
    More an upper class touch of such simple food, requires Merone seeds. Savory, nutty, with a delicate earthy note to them, the greenish dried seeds of the fruit will be crushed and added to a blend of Briga powder and water. Heated and stirred, the covered seeds are roasted, developing their full aroma and make for a great topping, inspiring the minds of food artists alike, into combining the lush greenery with its earthy roots.

    🙥 Broiled Brax 🙧

    The Brax is a big, bison like, frugal and hardy herbivore that comes in a few different subspecies in all of Atreia. Its undemanding and gentle nature lead to it being domesticated more than just once and is mainly used for its meat, hide, leader and horns as well as a beast of burden.

    For this dish, the fresh sirloin meat will be prepared with hot spices and broiled with Salix oil, giving it a slightly woody, nutty flavour. Accompanying and rounding out the meaty meal are boiled, sliced and - if desired - broiled Krimer with steamed Horto leaves. Enjoy! And dig in, before someone else does it for you.

    Key to a sustainable food source are dried, canned and pickled goods, as cubes are hard to come by as well as pricey. This is especially important for the common Asmodian, scattered about, making a living under given conditions. On this page, we take a closer look at four of these.

    Dried Scolopen Tail.

    Scolopen are predatory invertebrates, possessing six legs, a pair of grasping pincers and a narrow, segmented tail. Carried with a raised abdomen and in a characteristic forward curve over the back, the stinger is well presented at the tails end, as well as one at the Scolopens back end. With a shake of its body, Scolopen communicate with their conspecifics as well as predators. Its closest relative lives on Elysian grounds, called Scorpin. Asmodians profit from the Scolopens potent poison, as well as the fleshy tail. Dried, cut and put in a canning jar with two parts oil, one part water and salt, it stays preserved for further use.

    Tripeed root jerky

    Again we take another peek in the book ‘Wonderful Tripeeds - 1001 things we can make from Tripeeds’.     Pickled Tripeed

    A great recipe for preserving fresh Tripeed, making the best out of every harvest. But be sure to use only the freshest cobs. Husked, cleaned and quartered,they are placed in a large bowl with salt and enough water to cover. In a stock pot, mix vinegar, sugar, pickling spice and herbs, before bringing it to a boil over medium heat and make sure the sugar dissolves. Drain and rinse cobs under cold water and add to the pot with the pickling mixture. Return to a boil, reduce the heat to low, simmering for ten minutes. Remove the Tripeed cobs from the pot and place in the sterile jars before adding the vinegar mixture within a claw thick of the top. The cobs should be completely covered. Now seal the jars with hot water - done!

    Wild Ginseng Pickle

    As Ginseng is hard to come by, wild Ginseng is a real treasure to find and therefore should be treated and preserved as such! Cleaned they will be shortly cooked and put into a ice bath, before slicing. Vinegar and white sugar will be brought to a boil, before reduced to a simmer. Place the Ginseng, with fresh, cleaned Kukra berries, before proceeding the same process as the former recipe.

In a stock pot, mix vinegar, sugar, pickling spice and herbs, before bringing it to a boil over medium heat and make sure the sugar dissolves. Drain and rinse cobs under cold water and add to the pot with the pickling mixture. Return to a boil, reduce the heat to low, simmering for ten minutes. Remove the Tripeed cobs from the pot and place in the sterile jars before adding the vinegar mixture within a claw thick of the top. The cobs should be completely covered. Now seal the jars with hot water - done! Wild Ginseng Pickle As Ginseng is hard to come by, wild Ginseng is a real treasure to find and therefore should be treated and preserved as such! Cleaned they will be shortly cooked and put into a ice bath, before slicing. Vinegar and white sugar will be brought to a boil, before reduced to a simmer.     Ginseng can be divided into cultivated- and a few wild Ginseng types, of which all are endemic. Many attempts to grow and domesticate this highly sought after root spice failed, as they seem to only thrive under Skurven care.The Skurv are a breed of humanoid beasts of small stature with rodent-like features, found throughout the Asmodian territories.Their tribes focus mainly on harvest and gathering and live in close symbiotic and equal relationship with and within the Mau tribes. So far only in Brusthonin, Skurv are well disposed towards humans and even trade goods between themselves and the capital. For the decadent way to flavor Daevas alcohol, to much better uses of such versatile root.Dried, pickled, used as a tea, baked goods, snack or as ritual incense. But there are also other ways to get to a much more rare type of dried Ginseng. Treated with aether rays, Skurvs have yet found another way to create one of the most rare types of this hard to come by root. Only a very crafty Shugo by the name of Orashunerk, a cook in the Desert Garrison of Morheim. Seemed to be famous to have found a way to get and also prepare this ingredient. Altho, for all those wanting to prepare either of these dishes at home, any dried Ginseng would do them justice.

    Delicious piping hot Ginseng cookies.

    In a large bowl, place 2 cups of any desired plant powder, bay salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 2 tablespoons of crushed, dried ginger and half a cup of water. Knead by hand for about 20 minutes, before letting the dough rest for half an hour. Now roll it out and give it a preferred shape. Now heat up some Salix oil in a frying pen, pot, or wok and fry the cookie to your liking.Additional to the original recipe, a glaze of syrup can be applied to the cookies.

    The tea.

    For this tea, preferred herbs are mixed with a preferred amount of crushed, dried Ginseng and brewed. Now you have a wonderful aromatic smelling tea, served to everybodies delight. Those two simple dishes for sure will boost everybodies reputation.

    🙥 Seasoned Spiner Leg 🙧

    The spiner is creature found in both Asmodae and Elysea. Looking like a more terrifying version of a giant, heavily armored and aggressive lobster. The asmodian species is found in the burning hot lava regions of Musphel Gate and Mt. Musphel in Morheim. The most striking one, is the Obsidian Spiner. It’s protective skin plates, called spiner stones even took the look of lava, while fully grown individuals stand out from their surroundings, by their metal black base, making its orange markings even more present. The name spiner stone, might be misleading, but stems from some people mistake it for a stone due to its solid, stone-like appearance. Tho the true gem, is it's dangerous, ax shaped, sharp pincers. The sweet, mild, but rich crabby flavor and pleasant muscle texture make it a sort after delicacy that even fancy Eloys might not miss out on.


    Prepared and steamed with water on lava stones or glowing embers, the lighter parts of the legs, will turn into a nice orange red due to the process known by crustaceans. If the spiner, besides looks, taste and properties can be counted into this family, is unknown and might be up for debate. However, the legs will eventually break open, revealing its juicy treasure and can then be seasoned. Fitting to it’s nature, the most commonly used is a hot spice mix. A feast for more than just one person and too tasty to not share. Enjoy a regional luxury of Morheim!

    🙥 Crestlich Salad 🙧

    The Raydam is an apple like, juicy fruit found in Altgard, that is more sweet and mild in its’s taste than source. The small bush likes to grow on sandy, meadowy grounds, where enough of the pale sunlight reaches it leaves and fruits, as well as keeping the roots warm.Though surly it can be eaten raw, Raydam will be used for all kinds of purposes. Juice, Candy, Curry, in today's focus: Raydam Vinnegar. Raydam vinegar is very mild and more on the sweeter side and therefore perfectly suited for Salads. Together with Puchida, it will form the starting base of our salad. Puchida is a common farmed type of leaf vegetable, that comes both in a red green and a red purplish variant.

    And now to the name giving ingredient, the Crestlich. This big, flightless bird is found in different areas around Atreia, most preferably deserts, steps or grasslands, where they can overlook their grounds and see danger coming from afar. They are rather shy and timid birds, and will choose flight over fight despite their size and are not aggressive as other birds of their size. They have a call, to warn fellow kin, tho can attack, when flight alone is no solution.

    Their tender, even breast meat is the best choice for a salad, but depending on what is available, other meatparts can be used too. The meat can be boiled, broiled or cooked in the oven, suited to one's tastes and preferences. After that, it will be cut into strips, preferably half a claw length long and half that amount wide. Another measure can be the hard boiled eggs, as it should always be smaller than these.

    The eggs for the salad, preferably come from the Qooqoo, a domesticated fowl, looking like a mixture of a rooster and a duck. Showing no sexual dimorphism, Genders can only be identified by behavior, as males fight each other and hens provide the owner with daily laid eggs. Take 4 eggs and wax - or hard boil them. Quarter each egg and gently fold them in last, to not break them too much.

    Done! An easy, fast salad, balancing both light animal products with greens.

    Native to Morheim and Beluslan, Pressa is a very hardy bush, growing in rather muggy up to freezing cold climates. The plant clones itself over root shoots, rather than using its seeds to spared. One reason for the phenomenon, that Presser is rarely found alone, but mostly been seen surrounded by its kin of the same hight and growth. Sought out for its flower petals, used to dye fabric, Pressa is also known for its aggregate fruit, kept safe by an outer, orange like peel. The fruit itself is medium firm and has a subtle sweetness with of floral or roselike note to them. It can be eaten raw, as well as processed into different dishes. Some very fancy way to put this fruit to a use, is to make a Sherbet. For this, the fruit will be frozen, pureed and sifted to get out all its small seeds. Sweetened with sugar and put to a fitting container, it will be frozen one more time, before served. But what about some small chocolate hearts, to make this special dish even more fitting as a lovely first course? Sweet thooths and heart alike will not be able to resist this treat!

    But what’s that? You want to serve even more sweet treats? What about a true delicacy, hard to obtain and only found in Altgard? Then Mosbear honey will be the right choice. Raw combs are known as the gold of this region and it’s super sweet and thick honey, of a grounded, aromatic, rich herbal taste is often watered down and made into syrup, to provide it to even more people.
