Just some test with black paper, prismacolor pencils and a white fineliner. I messed up the eye and the nose. Actually, I wanted to change the position of the eye digitally but the new krita and my pc system won't let me. So sorry for that.

But it was a lot of fun to draw. I got this awesome, cheap colored paper and I just had to try it out!

(It's 2022 and I didn't do drawings on black very often tbh. Though it's such a cool way to create!)

The next in my Dragonflies / Dragons and Blooms series is a geranium dragon.
For the red hues, I chose tuscan red, crimson red and poppy red. The greens are close to grass and apple green I think. I just went with what I thought might contrast well as I worked, I didn't go into it with color in mind, barring the red of the flowers.
For some of these, since there are so many colors and variations, I will probably do more than one in the future.

These dragons like to weave themselves into the flower clusters they are named for, being that their red scales look similar. During the day they will occasionally stretch out their wings to help with absorbing heat from the sun. Since they spend most of their lives in these clusters of flowers, they take on the flower's scent as well.

I drew a loggerhead shrike!

So basically, the OC of one of my friends is nicknamed 'shrike' so it stands to reason I draw one at least once!

This was done with alcohol markers and prismacolor pencils.

Happy New Year everyone, and I hope you all had a happy holiday season as well, whichever you celebrate. 2023 has been a tough year for me, but I'm extremely thankful for all the lessons learned, and all the growth I've had as a person. I don't remember if I shared this painting or not last year, but I felt pretty happy with it so I thought it might be worth sharing now, despite being a new year and all.
I hope to make more art this year, as well as healing my connection with others and becoming more in touch with myself and my creative process. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of it so far.

Catra fanart I did for Inktober 2019, with prismacolor markers and color pencils! This one was one of those surprises that you think about a concept and it actually works? Art hardly ever translate perfectly from our minds to our canvas, but this one came out exactly like I wanted it to, so yay me! <3

I designed this serene sun face as a tattoo design to have done on my leg as a coverup piece for a regrettable stick-n-poke I attempted in my early teens. I did this on mixed media paper with Prismacolor colored pencils. It was enjoyable working in the highly saturated colors and I plan to do this more in works to come!

Here's another of my Dragonflies/ Dragons and Blooms series, the Liatris dragon.

This type can change its color from a pale white to a vibrant pinkish purple to blend in with its host plant. It can use its tail to absorb nutrients from the plant in a pinch, and it feeds on detrimental pests.
They are diurnal and absorb sunlight through their scales on the tops of the blooms.
