An afternoon with your friends, watching a meteor shower above, with nothing but the sounds of the ocean in the distance, all so you could forget your problems if only for a little while... This was a doozy. Needed to use 3D to get a lot of posing done, and the background gave me a ton of migraines, but i like to think that I did a good job! A scenic overlook I made for a dnd game I'm running. Here's the flavor text that went with it: _When you pictured the realm of the dead in your head, maybe you pictured rot and decay, maybe you pictured darkness, maybe you pictured a land covered in the undead. Death, to mortals, is a frightening concept. It is especially frightening to you, since your lives have been touched so violently by it. But what you see before you is not a desolate, decaying land. It is dark, but not oppressively so. Rolling hills of deep purple grass are a bed to tiny white flowers, glowing faintly in the gentle night. Distantly you see in the center of this land a towering tree with a black trunk and white flowers. Its petals constantly shed and drift through the air, almost like fireflies._

Tagging along on some errands before our next major outing. I caught this rainbow while on a scenic drive to the Kingdom of Zion big cat sanctuary outside Whangarei. It was cloudy then, but in the five minutes it took us to get back to the same spot the sky had broken and I snapped a second shot. Original photo taken May 2014. Overlooking one of a number of beaches at Bream Head (Te Whara) Scenic Reserve, at the entrance to Whangarei Harbour, New Zealand. It takes a bit of a hike to get there from the car park, and the land between is cattle grazing ground so one must watch one's step. There were a number of other sites in the area including a coastal battery and radar station, but unfortunately we didn't have time to explore them all. Original photo taken May 2014.
