Spring has sprung around the Mushroom Kingdom. Flowers are blooming everywhere, in the village, and around the castle. Colorful flowers bloom around the entrance, as Mario and Peach gaze around at the colorful site. The princess made a crown made from the flowers as a little gift for Mario. As Mario gets up to stretch his body, a Butterfly flew by, gently landing on a blue tulip. Peach looks around and see the winged insect. She smiled as the Butterfly sips nectar from the flower. With many insects returning, and flowers blooming, and trees growing leaves, it looks like that spring is officially back! Kubiu are descendants of ancient succubus/incubus, which have adapted to the modern world. Their sex can be male or female and even absent altogether. A common feature of them - horns of intricate shapes with lines as the color of eyes. Kubiu have the pointed ears, which can be different shapes and sizes. Their eyes don't have pupils, as they are similar in structure to ones of insects. Also all members of the species have a peculiar birthmark (there may be several on the body). Kubiu use it as a seal, which mark their victims. Human fashion of different eras is very popular among Kubiu, they can dress as they like. Lifespan of Kubiu depends on the total number of individuals against to the people species. If they are less than humans, they can live for up to 1000 years, if more - the life expectancy is reduced. On average, they live 500-800 years.All individuals have the ability to teleport, control of dreams, illusions and hypnosis. Also Kubiu have beastform. When Kubiu's life comes to an end, their skin begins to cover with cracks/fractures and body gradually crumbles or breaks down in the sand. The process of dying may last a few minutes or a few years - they do not experience pain in the proccess, but lose their strength. Same for his eyes. * At the tip of his tail, there is poison sting hidden in the tuft of hair. His poison is not lethal - it will only paralyze anyone who got stung. * He is definetly not a brave person - he prefers to avoid any fights and just run away. * Recently he discovered what are insects (as in his homeworld all he knew was nasty parasites) and he is fascinated by various species. He especially loves butterflies. * He wears both comfortable and very tight sports clothes like yoga pants or tight crop tops that allows him to move without problems. Today's prompt is insect, and I decide rather than worrying about what insect to make this out of, I would make an insect-like sweapon instead, and thus, the Mantis-Blade. Inspired by a similar weapon from Elden Ring, It's basically a cleaver that unfolds into a sickle-ish longsword for extra reach, and of course it should be dual-wielded. Its hard to see, but by the furry bits you can see a red metal ring, which is how I imagine you'd pull to activate the spring-loaded blade extension.

I have this concept in the works that basically combines different types of insects with cetnra and south american native aesthetics like the Aztecs, Inca's and the Maya's. No Idea what it'll look like in the end.

With this commission, I was pretty much given the freedom to run wild with ideas. We needed to find a way to have sasquatches fit into a futuristic setting for the welevos universe so we came up with the idea to make them a solarpunk species. These sasquatches are very close to nature, but also embrace innovative technology. Their accessories and clothes are made from materials such as hemp, rope, wicker and a lot of their jewellery is crafted from seeds and leaves, but they also wear various solar-powered gadgets. The one on the left is an entomologist who uses small insect drones to help him with his study of insects and how they interact with the biome as a whole. The one on the right is a travelling elder who spreads her knowledge of nature and technology among younger generations. She has a robotic leg and the robot parrot on her staff is neurally linked to her solar-panel headdress. The parrot helps her with her memory issues as she ages so she can effectively pass on her knowledge of crafting and gadgetry. With the welevos in general, I'm trying to find a way to have designs inspired by a mix of different cultures so that I am not lifting from one culture wholesale, sort-of similar to how The Last Airbender approached their design of different cultures. It's easy to fall into the trap of cultural appropriation and using tired tropes/cliches often seen in media, so I'm always open to constructive criticism when it comes to breaking these habits. Even with all of the research I do, there will always be blind spots.
