• Sheathing is the skin encasement around the android’s body and face — at least where obvious cybernetic implants are not affixed. A unique android might start game play with the most advanced alloy cladding, a more typical plastic sheathing, or be unlucky and have no covering at all and all its servo motors, wiring, pistons and underlying skeletal frame exposed. Androids start with a base defense value of 0 (zero) just like a human character, however apply any agility modifiers, sheathing mods, or skill-based changes after the character is created.
    Sheathing, or a lack thereof, also affects the endurance trait of the android so record any endurance amount added or subtracted when establishing a sheathing type, as this amount can change when skin is added or removed. Only one sheathing type can be adhered to the android at any given time.

  • This collection continues on from the ‘manimals’ included in the Mutant Epoch Hub Rules, pages 24 to 33. New for the expansion rules is the chance for some bestial humans to be fitted with cybernetic implants, although for already mutated bestials there is only a 1 in 20 chance that they are also enhanced, while non-mutated bestials have a 1 in 10 chance of being a cyborg. Any bestial human cyborg will feature 1 each of offensive, defensive and miscellaneous implants from the random table on page 330 of this book.

    A special thanks go out to all those in the Epochian Community who, over the years contributed many of these new bestial human types, added suggestions and feedback. I’d like to thank Blood Axe, Colin Chapman, C.H.U.D., Matthew Fisher, and Corryn. You’re the best. Where two names are listed beside the bestial human strain, it means two gamers contributed to this bestial human entry and the stats and write-ups were combined to the best of my ability. WM

    You can play these bestial human critters using the new rule book.

  • Thinking _interesting_ thoughts about the dynamic between a sentient robot and a mechanic it allows to stick her hands inside its body.

    ```Glitch is an AI in a robot body built of cyber implants, it uses it/its. The other hand belongs to Kate, a ripperdoc who was reckless enough to build it said body and is now dealing with it every time it catches a bullet wrong.```
    If this looks metaphorically suggestive it's because it is. Btw synth blood is usually white, but that just... was too much.
  • From the book: “As a character, a unique android will have random traits, skills, implants and potential features according to the tables that follow. All androids can read, write and do math. At first, androids can appear to be complex, hard to generate characters based on the extensive amount of PC creation material presented on the next 29 pages, however, creating one is really quite simple and involves one or more rolls on each of the tables to follow.”
  • Gisha squinted as she stepped into the larger, darker chamber. A score of figures stood silhouetted before an entoptic Pholin disc. The woman’s gaze scanned up a thin figure looming over all the others. The figure turned, a silver rapier balancing lackadaisically in one hand. A glimmer of backlight shone amidst two black pools framing a shrouded face. Gisha surged with realization. Her heart skipped and her chest burst with fluttering palpitations as she recognized the Legatus. The Telahus Maris was nearly unmasked, her forbidden facade almost exposed to the world. She glimpsed the flawless brow, beautiful strands of charcoal locks, the corners of bright facial patterns, not unlike the Quos that surrounded her.
    And then the face was gone, censored through her implants in the very moment that a pin struck the back of Gisha’s eye sockets. She grunted and heaved backwards, catching herself on the fall of her boot. The implants in her head throbbed with pain. A heat built in her skull. The Quos were staring at her with an unusual ferocity, their artificial eyes aglow with interrogative protocols. The first line of defense. The Legatus, even here in her home, was surrounded by exaFLOPS of processing power that her Quodilus acolytes could access at the blink of an eye.
    “Good turn to you, Captain” Whispered a soothing, synthetic voice in Gisha’s augments. The Pholin disc rippled as the words flowed like the most exquisite silk through Gisha’s head. “Neptune’s grace upon thee. I’m afraid you’ve caught me in the midst of my sermon. We would gladly entertain you in a few minutes.”
    The Quos relaxed a fraction of an inch, much to Gisha’s relief. The pressure on her eyes eased slightly, though the sense of bitter scrutiny remained. _Gats_, she thought. If this was how Celio’s sisters behaved in front of their Legatus, it was no wonder she was so rigid.
    Gisha’s focus returned to the now pixilated face of Albina. “Of course, Legatus. I will… wait in the corridor.”
  • New character by me, this one is very much inspired by Commissar Cain from 40K and Calculon from Futurama. Thank you again to Lizardman22 on DeviantArt with helping out with the bio.
    Name: Johnson J. Hogstead the Third (Prefers to go by Johnson or James, the latter being his middle name which he went by as an actor.)
    Species: Mobian Hognose Snake
    Age: 24
    Gender: Male
    Sex: "Yes please, madam, but how about dinner first?"
    Rank: Commander, he once attempted to claim the position of Kommissar but the position was already taken.
    Implants: Cybernetic eye with built in monocle. chosen to take on a more snazzy and superior attitude.
    James is a polite and well mannered member of the Empire, being a diplomatical and political individual in contract to the other more rational and aggressive member's of Mercia's D.E.L chapter, but even with his manners his name and appearance has unfortunately earned him some demeaning names among his peers behind his back, with him jokingly referred to as a "One-Eyed Trouser Snake" or "Long Johnson", this can embarrass or frustrate him incredibly and he often has to raise his voice back at the troops to but them back in line. He loves and prefers sharp and strapping clothing, especially longcoats and ties and wears one wherever he goes.
    James started with a noble life in a caring family in the Eurish region, he eventually picked up a talent for drama and screenplay, taking it though his years to become a popular actor, but sadly, even with his talent he could never land the big breakout role. This made him quite jealous as it made him believe he could never be given a chance to become someone in the world that mattered. When confronted by the Empire, a new spark of opportunity twisted into his mind, some time after signing up, he managed to con his way to a higher position than just a simple grunt in the Egg Legion, starting his new life out as a Sargent. Due to James already having a great ability to make rousing and motivational speeches, it caught the attention of Mordred Hood, the Grandmaster of Mercia's D.E.L chapter, landing him the role of a commanding officer. He knows he's not front line material, so he constantly tries to talk his way into staying at Snottingham Castle.
    Despite his preference to stay out of combat roles, he is still capable to defending himself thanks to his vigorous training in the empire, especially when given the right equipment, he still prefers to barter or talk his way out of difficult situations or combat missions as to not get his hands dirty, Lord Hood's own relatability to (Cowardly) weasel out of things still allows him stay grounded at the base even if he himself has been trying to shake off his spineless attitude and take a stand against Robotnik's antics, James's charisma however will rarely be effective against the doctor himself, as Eggman will throw almost anyone onto the battlefield for a chance to beat Sonic and his friends. his weapons of choice are quite varied, with the occasional Plasma/laser pistol and laser sword being in his arsenal, a bit of a Jack of all Trades when it comes to weapons, another reason why combat is not his forte. With his superior Mordred, he shares a interest in arts and theatre and likes to rehearse and share poetry with him when freetime isn't sparse. Nonetheless he still enjoys his new life in the empire and insists to live long and prosperously within it's ranks, as long as his superiors allow it.
  • Technician, Cybernetic: Like the junk doctor caste, this pre-game profession is also a skill as described on page 207 of this book. This character has either served as an apprentice — if having only 1 or 2 skill points in cybernetics technician — otherwise, if having 3 or 4 points in this skill, will most likely have once run their own implant purchasing, collecting, repair, and attachment service. While this character mainly trained as a cybernetics expert, they might have other prominent skills or interests, too, and walked away from the implant insertion trade. More commonly, however, this technician is obsessed with cybernetic technologies and so yearns to search for new parts, specimens, and tools. This obsession compels them to join an excavation team to undertake perilous expeditions into the old places to seek new implants, or else get access to cyborg companions to study, enhance, and repair.
  • My far future cryptid persona! He's an alien that is colloquially known across the multiverse as Crafters. They're beings of pure energy and thought but at some point during their cultural evolution they gained the ability to synthesize and gather around themselves using base materials, bodies or forms that they could shape to their liking. Each group, called a creche, have their own sort of aesthetic preferences, ideals and quirks they share so creches are often identified by their artistic or design similarities and motifs. Zee was born into the creche that would be the ones that were responsible for the Hopkinsville Kentucky alien sighting in the 50s.
    Zee wasn't always the being made of metal, graphite and alloy that you see here. He was naturally born as a female redcap named Splinter. She was a successful bounty hunter across Faerie but had a growing interest in learning the discipline of the Gremlins (in my setting, Gremlins are not a type of fae or goblin but instead a profession like a hacker). She gets her conundrum cusp implants, befriends one of these Crafters and eventually gets converted into one herself (becoming himself).
    His augments allow him to become a walking, sentient data repository. The prongs on his tail have multiple configurations, making it both a multitool and also allow him to interface with many different forms of outlets and sockets. His spine and tail are heavily armored and have densely-packed wiring and circuitry within, allowing him to access whatever information he's downloading or uploading freely. He has five data ports: Three vertical ones on his spine and two making up the base of his tail.
    While I call the accents on his limbs and shoulders "plating", it's actually opposite where what you see that's a dark graphite is what makes up his skeleton and flesh (hence why it's the same color as his teeth for example). He decided to do this to lend a sort of armored stability to his joints and key areas (and for aesthetics)
