  • Luna Delajour is a 16 year girl who hails from a long line of witches and wizards originating in Occitania. Her family, originally bearing the name Delazure, migrated to the US generations ago. The Delazure name, meaning "from the sky," evolved to Delajour over time.

Her wand is 32.6 cm long, the grip has a diameter of 2 cm (0.79"). The wand is made from Albony wood, a relative of Ebony, which often has Midnight Amber inclusions, increasing the wand's strength. The pearls spiralling around the grip are meteoric gold, tip and pommels are silver, the crystals blue kyanite. Luna loves anime, especially magical girl/heronine anime, so the wand has taken on a shape resembling a transformation wand, which are often found in such anime.

Luna has learnt to use her wand to project a blade of magical energy, which she uses like a sword. The blade can cut through pretty much any material (except blackrock and silver). However, it is not lethal. If she strikes a human with it, they will not be harmed, only stunned for a little while. It also requires a lot of energy to form the blade, so she can't maintain it for a long time.

  • A close up of the pommel and guard of a recent commission I did! A stone statue of a sword. Modeled in Maya, details created in zbrush then baked on to game ready mesh in Substance Painter! Was really pleased with the bake on this one!

  • For today, the prompt is centipede, and I figure I'll do one that is based on Japanese O-Mukade, which are giant centipede yokai, hence the katana style sword.

I could have done a much more prompt-approriate whip-sword, but that'll just be repeating myself, I feel. As it is now, the only centipede part is the pommel modeled after centipede head and the centipede aura trail.

  • Glavon (n.): sword

    irin (adj.): slender, narrow, fine

Glavirin (n.): narrow-bladed sword (general term)

    alvi (adj.): noble

    Glavirin Alvi: rapier

The rapier (latk. Glavirin Alvi) is a narrow-bladed type of sword primarily designed for thrusting. It can be distinguished from the Glavirin Min (small narrow-bladed sword) by its longer blade (around 70-100 cm / 28-40") and the complex basket hilt, which can be quite intricate.
The Latikan term "Glavirin Alvi" literally translates to "noble narrow-bladed sword" and was coined because the rapier is a favored type of weapon among nobles. Its design is considered very elegant and, while being a functional weapon, the emphasis is often on using expensive materials and complex and intricate basket designs, making the rapier as much a decorative object and showpiece, as it is still functional.
Rapiers are primarily used for sports and training, as well as duels and self-defense, but they are rarely seen on the battlefield. Many nobles possess at least two Glavirini Alvii. One will be a simpler, more sturdy and practical design for duels, while the rest will be designed primarily as decorative items.

This particular Glavirin Alvi belongs to Seradien Malvenay d'Adulmesh and was given to him by his father at age 16. The blade is 3 cm (1.2") at the widest place. As Glavirini Alvii go, this is on the wider side and gives it a bit more cutting ability, although it remains primarily a thrusting weapon. It is also only 70 cm (28") long, which is basically the lowest such a blade can be. While looking intricate, the hilt is of relatively simple design. The pommel is cast from brass, while the guard structures of the hilt are forget from steel, to reduce weight, which was then burnished to look like brass as well. This makes the hilt more decorative than that of a pure fighting weapon. The grip is made from a dark wood and is wrapped with thin brass wire.
The quillon block has a silver inlay of the head of a Sappiryan blue Karikat, the heraldic animal of the Malvenay family.
Although it is also a intended as a decorative weapon, the hilt is relatively simple as Glavirini Alvii go. This is for two reasons - one, it should also be somewhat practical, so it can actually be used for self-defense, and two, the Malvenay family became impoverished generations ago. Seradien's father simply was not able or willing to afford a more grandious weapon, or a duel and a decorative one.

  • I have not spent much time here! but i have logged on for webcomic day to tell you about my comic, **Kings of Sorts**!

Hana has been ousted from his quiet but unfriendly life by a unfriendly stranger due to a king's decree. After a short time together, Hana decides he wants to put his life on the line for this person he barely knows, and goes to the king's castle to bargain for the stranger's freedom.

669+ pages to read for free at [kingsofsorts.com](https://kingsofsorts.com/)

But, of course, there's a lot more to it than that. We've got wizards with degrees, illegal technology, an undead lava man, inhumane magical experiments, magical girls, impromptu philosophical discussions, mommy issues, wicked machinations, and at the center... a little redhead who really just wants some friends.

also, yes, it is all traditionally drawn, markers and paper and such.

also also, KoS is a part of the [spiderforest webcomic collective](https://www.spiderforest.com/), so if you want to read many comics by many passionate people, that is a good place to look.
