• The Socialist Union of Democratic States was the internationalist rebrand of the French Commune, Ailedhoo's inaugural player state in Imperium Offtopicum IX. While not fully appreciated at the time, SUDS offered the template for pretty much his entire play style. A heterogeneous mix of leftist movements ranging from anarchists to Stalinists, it was almost always rattling sabres with its neighbours over the 'inevitable' global revolution, including my own *Downfall* Gang. Ironically, SUDS avoided the pariah status incurred by his later countries' political pig-headedness and militant fundamentalism, thanks in large part to being drafted into international coalitions against the even more insane powergamers christos200 and Domination3000.

  • Emblem of the Star League in the IOT spin-off Imperium Universalis. Certainly not one of my more inspired designs, although I do like the aesthetic.

The Star League is an autonomous military order that functions as a sort-of space-based UN, comprising a vast multitude of races and species from across the galaxy. It derives from an unfinished space opera I started God-knows-how-long-ago, and is one of two major factions competing for universal supremacy. While apolitical and authoritarian in structure, it is nonetheless the "good" counterpart to the similarly-organized, but dictatorial and human-centric Third Hierarchy of United Systems. Both factions trace their origins to a war on Earth in the late 1990s, and their contemporary leaders hold a personal vendetta. Very little of this history was elaborated in-game on account of even though the thread ran for three months, it was ridiculously slow to develop.

As with the Bundesleet in Mobius: Total Chaos, this emblem was created for the purpose of the game and no symbolism existed prior.

  • Elizabeth "Lizzie" Adlington, left, with her older half-sister Camilla Adlington. Both girls are the daughters of Donald Adlington, a man who is infamous for his many scandals, which includes a scandal relating to donations to a children's hospital being stolen, various corruption scandals, his role in the death of a political rival's aide and his many marriages. Camilla gets on better with Lizzie than her own brother Ivan Mulrooney, as she inherited her father's looks.

  • Emblem of the enemy faction in *Advance Wars*. Double A played as Black Hole in several IOT games; his breakout performance was in SonRISK 2, where in a deft exploitation of the late-game political situation, he provoked a stand-off with Red_Spy's Freetown before surrendering to JohannaK's Iberia in exchange for its South American territories; only one turn later Iberia collapsed and Black Hole used its troop bonuses to steamroll North America. Freetown promptly surrendered, winning Double A the game, and breaking a pattern of sudden and unprovoked invasions wiping him out.

Reconstructed from official media; the main SVG itself was never hosted on the IOT Wiki, but this package includes the variant used for "Pink Rainbow Unicornica" in Imperium Offtopicum IX, in which Sturm binged *My Little Pony*.

  • Modification of the [coat of arms of the United Arab Republic](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_the_United_Arab_Republic_(1958%E2%80%931971).svg) for ATEN/IOT XIV, incorporating the [ankh](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ankh.svg) seen in [associated flags](https://inkblot.art/post/JWxVNSGHI8qCKvuIxXfO). Uploaded to the IOT Wiki in 2020 to replace my original PNG version, neither it nor the main flag were actually used in the UAR's main article, as the community collapsed before I'd completed an extensive redraft.

The United Arab Republic was created through the ceremonial merger of my [Holy Egyptian Republic](https://inkblot.art/post/tPvh0oz36k6D5KD4Zm7H) with NedimNapoleon's Syria during the signup phase of *Another Terra: Empires and Nations*, Taniciusfox's attempt to out-Excel Sonereal (to disastrous results). As I [allude](https://inkblot.art/post/5HOEwexIEtSTODQC4ifM) [elsewhere](https://inkblot.art/post/OCHzhMsZfJQe3R9sgI6Z), my original inspiration for Egypt involved the tangible influence of the Old Gods creating a crisis within Islamic theology that spawned an Egyptian heresy combining elements of Kemetic ritual with Islamic monotheistic doctrine, resulting in strong religious influence over state politics into the game's 1950 start. Our actual performance in ATEN was largely unremarkable save for an attempt by arya926 to trick us into disgracing the Indian Ocean Treaty Organization with a sneak attack against Jehoshua's latest Vaticanwank; mounting disillusionment with Tanicius' management resulted in ATEN being the _only_ game from which I retired early, shortly before it collapsed from its own complexity.

In Imperium Offtopicum XIV, by contrast, the UAR's origins were not detailed, but it became a keystone player in the global political situation, and probably my most influential faction since the Scarlet Lancers. The unofficial secretary-general of the United Nations, it organized the UN mission to Vietnam and the subsequent war against Japan. A long-game spy-op to break Libya out of Greek control spiralled into the Platonic Republic's collapse after Ailedhoo opted to switch to the rebel faction I had specifically written off, apparently without ever consulting the game moderator as to its guiding ethos. Near the game's end I was essentially allied with KaiserElectric's Germany in a shooting war with Tyo's Soviet Union, a [proxy war](https://www.deviantart.com/el-thorvaldo/art/On-Technocracy-483501567) with Sonereal's "Technocratic Republic", and was on the verge of intervention against christos200's Thailand when the cancelled Tun 19 map revealed it had follow through on invading JohannaK's Malacca. [Mr. Worldwide](https://inkblot.art/post/7w9gj7D2vhtsIXciWwip), amirite? B-)

  • Tonight on Thor Mucks With Shapes, a graphic symbol for the kingdom of Raevyllke in Ailedhoo's third and most original IOT spin-off, *Intrigue of Magic*.

I tells ya, just when I think I can finally break free of certain thematic constants, a) Ail plops down a rule stating you *can't* play as humans, and b) one of the preset races is lycanthropes. It's like they purposely goad me... Not-so-coincidentally, "Raevyllke" is derived from the Norwegian words *rev* and *fylke*; taken together, it literally translates as 'fox county'.

This whole thing was drawn basically freehand, and as such the angles are all over the damn place, but as long as you don't stare too long it'll still look semi-pro. The red decoration has absolutely no meaning whatsoever; given the kingdom's unusual political structure, the banner is almost certainly some proto-national symbol rather than a royal icon.

  • Princess Grenni Dal’Esta, of the Unity of Ganymede. Another book character. The most combat focused of the main cast. Grenni is Unity Knight, which is essentially a special military officer who promotes the interests of the monarchy, a political officer corps within the force. Grenni is less concerned with the latter portion, instead focusing on her military career. As a member of one of the most influential families in the Jovian system, Gren is positioned to have a major impact on human affairs.

  • Commissions which feature more than one character will raise the cost by half of the base price per character - A 2-character line artwork will cost $45 USD, and a 3-character line artwork will cost $60 USD. Furthermore, additional fees may be incurred depending on the nature of the commission - for example, if a character has a complex design, but not complex enough for me to refuse the commission. If you are concerned about additional fees in a commission, please inquire about it.

I can draw some non-abstract backgrounds, usually of natural/fantasy scenery. However, this is a price range on its own (Depends on the commission) and the quality may vary. Please inquire about it if interested.

Please reach me for a commission through Discord: Umbra#6008

Prior to starting any work, I will discuss the details of the commission with the client. I will ask for references for character design (Visual references required), posing, facial expressions, etc. as well as any alts that might be made. Once I have a clear idea, I will inform the client how much money is due. If the client agrees, I start by providing a watermarked line piece. If the client is satisfied, they then pay me (Through PayPal exclusively, currently), and once the money is received I start work on the rest of the commission. I will provide updates and check with the client if I am unsure about specific details that arise. Shaded pieces are delivered together with their alts.

I am a learning artist and while I may take interest in drawing a variety of topics, I may refuse - or refund a commission at any point during the project - for any reason. I am not obligated to undertake a commissioned project nor complete it. In the event of failing to complete a commission, I will refund the client. I may consider a work finished, and while I will make changes for the client's preferences, the client may not be refunded solely due to dissatisfaction with the final result. It is ultimately my decision to refund the client.

I recommend thoroughly investigating my previous artworks as an example for what one may expect from commissioning me. I am comfortable with drawing several topics, and will learn about new ones should the client want it. However, there are a number of themes and topics I am not comfortable with being commissioned for, for varying reasons:

    Hate Art
    Political Art
    Abuse
    Complex Character Designs (YMMV)
    Heavily Mechanical Themes

This is __not__ an exhaustive list and I may refuse a commission based on other themes or topics not listed here.

Please note that the above price rates are for an individual basis alone. If you happen to represent an organization in some form (ex. A game studio) Then prices will be raised depending on several factors.

Both factions trace their origins to a war on Earth in the late 1990s, and their contemporary leaders hold a personal vendetta. Very little of this history was elaborated in-game on account of even though the thread ran for three months, it was ridiculously slow to develop.

As with the Bundesleet in Mobius: Total Chaos, this flag was created for the purpose of the game and no symbolism existed prior. Given its colour scheme, I might re-use this in DYOS if the Eastern Union ever develops spaceships.

  • When Sonereal challenged the IOT moderator BirdJaguar to a Children's Card Game, my first instinct was to reach for that batch of cards I'd made based on DYOS. A split-second later, I realized I should try my hand at a batch for IOT!

He's also one of our key mapmakers, so I should probably go back and edit that in. While he purposely plays as fringe wacko states, Nedim is one of the most politically astute and lovable people you could possibly dig out of the Balkans.

Photo is of Dragan Vikić, head of the former Bosnia & Herzegovina Special Police unit.
