Antimo released the game's soundtrack on his bandcamp days ago, so I've been relistening to some of my personal favorite tracks lately, mostly to relief some fond 2015 nostalgia I had with the game.

an itinerant ghost settles on the surface of an itinerant pool.

weightless
resting upon the surface of the water.
weightless
without the once-protruding bone at her back.

but she borrows weight once again for just a minute, delving her elbows into the shallow pool.
she fishes out a stone without needing to search.
it has been long-buried:
the foundation of a collapsed cairn.

it is an ordinary stone, shrouded in a layer of mud and algae.
she scrubs her paws over it, revealing the impossible luster beneath.
as she cradles it, equally impossible lights blink into the stitch-gaps left between the stars.
a spectacle almost forgotten, nearly foreign to her in its nostalgia.

she exhales. she remembers.

_this place... my father and i used to come here.
i never told... that's why i knew it,_
she says to no-one in particular.

_it's okay to be alone,_
answers the wind, cadence cascading ripples across the inkblot at her feet.
the stars wobble.
she looks up at the steadily burning ones,
but the water collecting at her eyes makes _everything_ wobble.
a sharp damp ache blooms in the back of her throat.

Ten-ish years ago I used to roleplay Ryuko Matoi on Tumblr and, as things usually go with me, I was quite edgy about it. I've recently rewatched the anime and got hit with nostalgia, so I redrew my main blog pic at the time. I'm now much better at edgy pics, dare I say.

Anyway, she's a high-school punk with a record of beating people up across multiple schools. It's not a stretch of imagination to say that she smoked at some point.

This was a redraw of one of my oldest pieces back on my first days in dA. Tbh I really loved how the old one looked back in the day, even tho it was done in paint with just a mouse lmao. But the nostalgia can't be rivalized, am I right?

First art of the year!
I was inspired by liminal spaces, so I made this. Looking at empty spaces filled with stillness is just so interesting. It gives off a feeling of nostalgia that's almost eerie. Like a distant memory.
You ever walk late at night after the sun sets and listen to the surrounding sounds of nature, and then suddenly everything goes silent? It's like you entered a different world. Everything looks familiar, but something feels off. It stopped snowing. Only one streetlight is on. The light makes you feel safe, but you're surrounded by darkness. You think you're being watched, but you're all alone. Then, the sounds return and all streetlights are on. You continue on your way. After all that, you realize something: "Everything about that was peaceful, but I was not at peace."

Grief is a strange thing, a painful one.
Even once you've passed all the steps and accepted your loss, it still comes back to haunt you from time to time. A feeling of nostalgia, of longing.


Emerald was very young when she lost her parents, but even now she visits their grave often to talk to them. Despite not believing in God, she hopes they can hear them from where they are... and that they're not disappointed in her.

Bless 10 year old me cuz the only thing I remembered pre Tokyo Mew Mew (re)watch was I loved him and vaguely recognized who's who of the Mews.. Plot? Nope I got nothing. I've gone full circle I guess lmao it all lines up with a lot of my newer favs too.. questionable fashion sense.. kitty eyes.. cute fangs.. a little bad............ a _lot_ stupid...............
Went on a nostalgia dive and (re)watched TMM around when I did this since I had only watched the dub as a kid and so never even saw the end of the series thanks the end + Re-Turn 2020 for validating kid me's tastes.. that growth.. I need to finish the new anime I started it then got busy and left off haha

I'm still pretty happy with this art although one of the arms is bothering me now the length isn't right RIP but I really like how the eyes came out especially they're so shiny.. kitty eyes..
