• been contemplating opening commissions over here at a discounted price to be like, yo, artist to artist discounts. but i am also unsure since my follower base here is pretty smol and a handful of them are people i talk to relatively frequently anyway xD
So i guess the point is, Is it worth it to post for commissions here, or are we all still really poor and can't afford nice things?

I'm poor and can't afford nice things, so i generally assume other artists end up in the same boat, but i could be completely wrong....

(commission types that i was thinking of would probably be like, sketches you can color, busts, or references or something? not sure.)

  • It had been only a year and a half since she'd left her homeland of Tír na nÓg, but it somehow felt much longer than that to Keeva. She didn’t hate this strange land she was now forced to live within; Hadreon was rather nice, all things considered, but it wasn’t her home.

This sense of loss bothered her in the very beginning, of course, but she could push those thoughts and feelings aside for a time. The longer she found herself away, however, the harder it became to ignore the aching feeling that had made a home of its own within her.

This was further worsened by Lan. She knew that he could feel what she did through their link as summoner and eidolon, at least to some extent. It was obvious he was trying to help her as much as he could. He would listen, distract her, keep her moving and her mind on other things. It only did so much, however. Eventually it seemed to Keeva that he’d grown tired of it. He wished to be unfettered from her, he would say. Keeva, of course, would oblige to these requests, although it did not come without an even sharper ache within her as the link that bound their lifeforce to one another shattered for a time.

_He just wants to be happy_, she thought to herself, smiling despite the loneliness. _I can’t deny him that._

With each request to sever their link it became harder for her to say yes, especially in those horrifying instances where he failed to return to her in time. When she felt what little connection they did have remaining snap completely, that loneliness consumed her utterly until he finally recovered from as close to death as an eidolon could reach. There were a handful of times where she did finally deny his wishes, but after seeing how distraught Lan became… she had to relent.

She wanted him to be happy, she honestly did, but why did he want to leave her so often? Although he seemed eager to talk with her when they were together, his own thoughts and feelings were significantly more guarded than her own. She didn’t know what he truly felt.

She thought about asking why, but decided against it. It felt easier not to know.

There eventually came a day where Lan, after returning much sooner than usual, seemed almost bursting with excitement.

“I have something I want to show you!”

Keeva was suspicious, but before she could say anything, he had swept her off her feet and flew away as fast as his mighty wings would allow. He dipped into the forest as soon as he spotted an entrance large enough within the branches. Farther and farther into the woods they swiftly flew, bursts of stray sunshine shining through the canopy of leaves acting as their guiding light. After a while, he slowed to a stop, landing in front of a strange archway of silvery-green leaves. Keeva gave him a curious look that seemed to make Lan even more giddy with excitement.

“Go in!” he said, carefully setting her down on the ground. “It’s safe, I promise.”

Her curiosity got the better of her. Keeva walked forward through the arch of leaves, which seemed to quiver as she passed by. It seemed almost to be a hallway, continuing on and on, twisting every so often until she had no idea which way she was facing. She gave a wary glance behind her to Lan, who merely grinned widely in response.

Finally, she saw what appeared to be the end of this passage, the suns’ light shining brightly on the other side. She stopped once she reached the edge of the leaves and stared with wide eyes, uttering a small sound of surprise.

It was as if a piece of home were lifted and dropped within this little clearing. Flowers of all kinds littered the ground, climbing up into the large trees that acted almost as walls. An abundance of color lay everywhere one looked. She lifted a hand as she passed underneath one of the more willowy trees, lightly brushing through the strands of purple leaves and flowers that dangled delicately from the low-hanging branches. She walked as if in a daze and sat herself in the middle of the blue-green grass where the flowers were small and seemed to dance in a gentle breeze that could not be felt. Lan joined her, seeming pleased with himself.

There were no words shared between them as they sat. It was the pleasant kind of quiet where you felt warm and safe, no cares in the world to weigh you down.

“I could feel you were homesick,” he finally said with a soft smile. “It took me a while, but… I hope what I found is worth the pain I put you through.”

She leaned against him, resting her head against his arm as she settled into a hug.

    “Thank you.”

Second try on a new artsite. While I am not active with art anymore with my handful of baby dragons, I will be uploading my older artworks soon.

  • This year, I completed:
    - 118 illustrations - some I put into groups because they were a set of items or cheebs
    - 6 beast bases
    - 48 comic pages
    - 8 tutorials/tips
    - 4 timelapse videos

All of these can be found on my [sfw Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/parallelrift) with a handful floating over on Twitter and here at InkBlot. Lots of things were accomplished this year, some months had heavier work loads than others and I completed a good, decent amount of personal work this year as well. I will be stepping up my game for 2023, fixing my prices to more professional levels due to the quality of work I offer and my management of time to guarantee most commissions being finished within a week to a month after purchase. I rarely have faltered on this over the years with the exception that sometimes I had other things going on or some commissions had stricter deadlines so they had to be done first above others.

There wasn't a lot of game work this year. Some for Mythika-arpg (on DA) and some done for Eliyo.net. Overall, majority of the YCHs I presented did sell and I was able to save up to my goal amount by the time October 2022 came to light. Didn't do a lot of trades this year, just two, I think, but did 7 Secret Santas, so my December was definitely probably one of the busiest months. Joined a few new Discord servers so I can stay in contact with other artists. Only reached 1 Twitter Follower Raffle Goal this year, which was reaching 500 followers! I also entered a contest, to which I won an Honorable Mention. The most number of Patreon Patrons I had this year was 10 while it stayed at a near consistent 7 at least. My total income from artwork to Patreon this year was just over $3,000...which is still far too low to live off of, especially with the high economy right now.

Some of the downside things that have happened to me this year, just to get out of the way first, is that my FB account was hacked, no one was willing to legit help me, so lost the account and my Insta as that was attached to it. The initial hacking happened in early Oct. All they did was request a password reset and somehow got it without even having access to my email. Even when I said I had not requested such a thing, nothing was done. Even when I presented proof, nothing was done. I cannot afford an advocate so was basically forced to let the accounts go. It sucks because I have no clue what they did and all the things I had on those accounts are just gone forever now. We also had some car repair bills this year as the breaks went out and one of the tires wouldn't stop leaking air because they fixed the rims wrong when they went to rotate the tires >.> And of course, the entire theft and drama with socials and Ai right now is definitely not a good thing either.

Overall, I was also able to attend an anime con this year, one of the Trash Taste tour events, saw an orchestra, attended my first Pride celebration, and was able to attend the Renaissance Festival 3x this year. No animals had major vet bills this year. Mochi did get fixed and Kiwi had 2 ear infections, but for the infections, we were ready this time and had the medicine with us so we took care of it at home and she's all good. Elyza (cat) is at least 10+ years old, Mochi (cat) is 2, Kiwi (dog) is 5 and Onyx (dog) is 4 years of age. We've had to adjust everyone's food this year a couple times, especially with the cost of dog food having doubled...groceries for people right now has also nearly doubled in cost and I haven't seen this since I was like 10...didn't think I'd be living through it twice in my lifetime. We are saving what we can and plan for meals we can easily make and freeze while still remaining as healthy as we can be. December this year has also provided us with a white christmas for once with a good amount of snow that was about 1/4 of the way up my calf. Downside, the temperatures dropped to near extremes and froze the roads into a ice skating rink...so that was fun >.< As of this post, the snow is slowly starting to melt already, but the cold winds linger. Oh, and I also finally used some of that saved up money to update my office so it's more ergonomic...really badly needed it as the previous set up was uncomfortable and a bit problematic.

Thank you everyone and hope this 2023 is a bright year with Wins for creatives.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and wish all the best fortunes.

  • Redrawing a handful of ocs this month coming who've been living rent free in my head for MANY years.
I need them on paper, I need them redesigned to my newer interests and likes.

This oc is known as Headless (lil obvious lol)
He's a demon, monster, imp like servant of Lucifer.
He's pretty calm headed though missing his head as he was be-headed when he was a human. As punishment he was reborn into a demon with no head.
The flames only there when doing hex like magic. Normally black-like smoke leaves the area where his head would be.
It's not black there, you can see the sliced meat of his neck, spine and throat. It's just all in the open and never hidden.

  • Handful of pieces of Wyvern done off/on over last few years. Probably should revisit her in some capacity, or at least try and come up with some more scenarios. Though if nothing else, she's good to help pick up mood when need a boost.

  • Carla and Bue have been friends for a while, and they've had a handful of friendly matches before, but why not another!

These two lovely ladies are pumped to be in the ring together! But the question is, who will win?

    Bue belongs to Guynio(Guynio)

  • one of our parties horses~

"The first horse, Tilly, is a five feet, three inches tall fleabitten grey on buckskin mustang mare. She is a flighty 10 year old with a stripe marking on her face, and her four leg markings consist of nothing on her right front leg, a half pastern on her left front leg, a sock on her right hind leg, and a sock on her left hind leg. She would be best suited for western seat or reining equitation."

is the description the dm gave (he randomly generated a handful when we bought em) so had some fun designing her, went for a bloodmarked look cause it's neat n heck who needs realism when you have cool horses? (I also just forgot it said buckskin and decided feck it, it's cute)

  • ...March showers bring April flowers? I do Mermay in May, so I like to do flower dragons in April. :3
This dragon turned out much better than I feared it might! I went through a handful of sketches before landing on this and thankfully it turned out pretty okay. Not the most exciting dragon I've ever designed, but I think it does okay, especially with the relative simplicity of the actual fire lily. For all their frilled petals they're actually pretty simple flowers. :3
