A new year, a new book, a new look. I didn’t take this as far as I had hoped or wanted to but I did have fun reopening a new chapter to my sketchbook. This one features an Ocelot and some facts there about and a few thoughts.

I didn't intend to draw more fanart yet today, but someone mentioned Yuan needing his coffee and oops my finger slipped. (it's not a very good doodle but it amused me so there)

I'm pretty sure after being alive for 4000 years your coffee would have to be borderline toxic, because mine sure as hell would have to be lol.

So here's another city scene I created using non-canon versions of Seek and Isaac [another character of mine]. It was this year where I would occasionally make Fireseeker into a furry since I still see her as a persona. However, nowadays I have made a separate animal persona for myself and I use Fireseeker moreso as an art mascot. Kinda similar to how Walt Disney uses Mickey Mouse as the face for his work.. something like that. Over the years, creating pieces from photos have been my form of study. I used them to not only understand poses and composition but also help me understand backgrounds. It may be improper sure [as someone who's only art education was self taught, highschool and a little bit of college] but hey, everyone learns somehow. While I still teach myself through imitation, I try to keep my references far enough from the original as I can. This piece was an exception. This piece may be one that I might redraw one day and use it as inspiration for my story..

Hey guys! Howzit goin? Work has taken up most of my time lately. It’s been kinda rough, pay is no longer competitive so they haven’t been able to hire anyone so we’re short staffed yaaaaaay! :) I’ve gotten better at managing my time so I’ve been able to work on art more, but boy am I tired.

I’ve got a couple more ref sheets I’d like to get started on soon. I’ve been working on an anthro base but I’ve kinda lost interest in it… I’ve had to do a lot of editing lately when it comes to art and I’m kinda tired of it. I end up over-working my sketches especially, to the point where I can’t tell if they look good any more. Just wishing I could get it right the first time.

Anyways…. My anniversary with Nick was earlier this month! We had some food, painted some mugs, did some shopping, and went to a local coffee shop/record store. It was great to just spend a whole day with each other. We’ve been together 10 years! I can’t believe it’s been so long… I’m so lucky to have him. I genuinely don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t met him. He’s my best friend and my home. We’ve grown so much as people and I can’t wait to see where we’ll be in another ten years. <3

TFF is less than two weeks away too! I’m hoping I can work on art and relax that weekend since work has been so busy. I’m kinda debating just going Saturday? Idk, I’m not really as psyched about it as I have been in previous years. Maybe it’s because I don’t have as much money to spend or because I worry about the cats being alone the whole time I’m there but… Idk! Idk. I’m gonna try to have some fun.

It’s also gonna be my birthday that Saturday! I’m not really expecting anything big since we're gonna be at the con and my family isn’t visiting from out of state this year. I’m more than okay with that though. I’m the kind of person who would rather use the day to relax or indulge in hobbies. But hopefully since it’s a convention weekend I’ll get to see some friends I don’t often spend time with!

I let the journal get away from me ahhhh! I hope you all are doing well! Until next time!
