A re-do of some fanart I drew for the (original) Homestuck. Specifically the character Terezi. As I don't follow current story developments and live in blissful ignorance about where her character has gone in recent years, please pardon if this fanart inadvertently offends you on a deep level.

As I said, it's a comparative fanart of one I drew last year. (The second slide shows a side-by-side.) The first one wasn't the tippy top of my skill level even back then, but I still recall working a fair amount of time on it, and repeatedly trying to get posing and proportion right. Before eventually just giving up and leaving the work as it was, even though I hated it (Don't even ask about the pose. Is she a pinup? I don't know?) So I'm pleased to have come back a year later, and see that I'm able to reliably chart my skill progression. With posing obviously, but even stylistically.

And the last slide is of yet another Terezi realated thing I made. (can you name my favorite character based on context clues?) This creation is a head asset I created for an online game that allows for the creation and upload of custom avatar textures by players. I've mentioned making things for this particular game in the past, and I've still got a collection of (sadly) unused assets I made for it.

The head pictured is actually only a fragment of the entire asset, since it's a whole sprite sheet. Also note that the reason she's without her trademark shades is because there are some very strict rules in this game about head accessories, meaning no glasses and whatnot. I'm actually not even sure if this head would be legal anyway because of the horns, and similar horn items already existing in-game.

It's was a lot of fun to make. I tried to capture references to her evolution, and elements of her personality within the confines of an 18 frame, 32x32 gif, lemme know how I did lol. I planned on doing a few other characters at the time, actually beginning work on a Rose head too. But I quit the game shortly after completing this head, and so dropped any other projects and plans around it.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well! And if you decided to read through this, thanks!!! Also if you happen to like the art here, particularly the animated Terezi head, feel free to leave a like or a comment, but please do not reuse the asset anywhere. Thanks!
