Darkness spilled across his world. Like tar it devoured the vast, brilliant sky. His mind numbed, grappled by the same, oily tendrils, and his body grew weightless. A curious sense of peace came next, for fear had no place in this realm.
"What is happening to me?” his thoughts began to escape him like smoke from extinguishing candles. His body drifted through the air, as if in waking sleep. His eyes half open, facing the depths of the emerald sky and the advancing blackness. When the last ray of sun kissed his face, a forgotten sensation stirred in his core. An invisible grasp over his heart. He gasped for air as if woken from ages long, blissful slumber. "
