SO APPARENTLY I'VE LEARNED I CAN POST MULTIPLE DRAWINGS! I suppose its a new update for Inkblot.

Around my Junior year of highschool, my art class had this project. The idea was to create a 12 piece long narrative using a variety of art mediums. Due to time constraints I made 90 percent of this project in the traditional+ digital style that was engrained in me. Looking back at it now, I kinda regret not experimenting with other mediums. Makes sense why I only got a B in that project. I also did not like every piece i have done but I will post the ones that I do like. I hope they at least tell the basics of the narrative.

The narrative went along like this; it is a fantastical journey about a girl, who represents myself, overcoming her fears and the monsters that terrorize her. Beforehand, she cowered behind her armored "brother".I say this in quotes because he is based on a very close friend of mine that I saw as a big brother. He fights off Incertus, who represents that taunting feeling of self- doubt. Later during the night the girl realizes that she cannot rely on people too much for protection. While others can keep you safe, they are not invincible. They too can struggle or get hurt by monsters. So, armed with a lantern and a spear, she sets off to try to fight the beast herself. However she needed to figure out how. She seeks to the Guardian Angel Victoriam for advice, who at the time was made as a mentor character. Victoriam tells her that she needs to know how to use her strength and takes her deep into the forest to train with an old dragon. Despite countless days intensely training to use her spear, her real test was to go out and face the beast herself. At first the girl was afraid as Incertus appeared to be much stronger and more frightening. Just when she was in the monster's coils she manages to find the strength within herself and slays the beast, for he is nothing more than a worm that feeds off the fear of others.

This narrative was a representation of my personal journey. For all of my life I struggled to find my own strength. I saw myself as weak, unable to fight against my anxieties, insecurities and doubts. While I did lean onto my friends for encouragement a part of me thinks that I can't just rely on them alone. A part of finding strength is learning to make the effort to advocate for myself. Of course that takes training. I would find various mentors in my life whether it be my friends, my teachers or even my family. They all taught me to learn to use my spear. Yet gaining that knowledge through a trainer is half the battle. Like Incertus, fear is a beast that likes to make itself look big, overwhelming and scary. Yet when you learn to use your strength, you realize that its bark is much bigger than its bite.

I would write more about this but I am running out of space and I am unable to post my speeds :(
