I started rewatching Ouran High School Host Club after listening to the Shojo Sundae podcast. They began reviewing the anime so it put me in the mood to rewatch!
I didn't watch the anime as a kid but it felt like a quintessential anime during it's time. When I finally saw it everything about it just clicked for me! The comedy, messages, and expecially the art still defines a classic 2000s anime for me. I strongly belive that if there is a reboot they shoudl try to preserve the original animation style because it is so unique and pleasing still!
Anyway, I decided to redraw Haruhi and Tamaki in their style to understand what I like about it. Drawing Haruhi made me realize that I probably picke up parts of the style subconciously. Haruhi looks so nice!
