Gemini is the third astrological sign in the zodiac, taking place between May 21st to June 21st. Represented by the Greek characters of Castor and Pollox, and in the Babylonian mythos, named Lugal-irra and Meslamta-ea. Of the sculpts in this set, I think this one might be the one I'm most confused on the theme. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong - I loved painting it and had a anxiety of a time trying out an NMM technique for the armor; but I don't really read this as the twins? Two sets of arms would make sense, but the theme here appears to be three - three arms, three faces on the helmet plate, three across the hips and abdomen, three with the shoulders and their face... it just doesn't connect to "Gemini" to me. But, it is an amazing sculpt and I think a good warm up to kick off my year-long project of painting every zodiac sign model. Since I'm reposting from another site, the first 6 in this set will not be posted on the right dates. Original post date was on the first day of Gemini, which was May 21, 2022. For each model I have been letting my friends of a given sign choose my colors, which has been a great exercise in "how do I make these colors work together?" In order to catch up I'll be posting the 6 complete models each day up until Sagittarius, who is the most recent to be completed, and will carry on my monthly schedule from there.
