Thylacoleo carnifex was a large terrestrial predator in the Pleistocene. It was a marsupial, in the same order as koalas, wombats, and kangaroos, and operated with the same dental formula. It had very small canines, and so to compensate had massive premolars and incisors, as well as the strongest bite force of any predator.
