CEO of Floyd Galante Records; a rival to De Vries Records on the West Coast.

Floyd was the lead vocalist for the legendary 80s hard rock band, De Vries, which he founded in 1976 with his eventual wife (and now ex-wife), Maria De Vries. Post-divorce, De Vries has now officially disbanded and Floyd scurried into a sort of retirement dawn of his mid-life crisis.

Now divorced and unfortunately lacking a decent singing voice anymore (thanks to prolific drug use), Floyd has dedicated himself to passing all of his knowledge along to up-and-coming musicians. In his free time, he is often scouting for new talent.

Here's my webcomic's main character, Janis! (the webcomic is still a wip btw kjldsjklsd) I revised her older reference so it matches my other character's refs!

A talented vocalist, guitarist, and overall musician, Janis has been a one-woman band for years, writing music and producing covers of her favorite songs. She aims to be signed onto De Vries Records, though she knows she'd need a band first - something that she has trouble coming to terms with due to being arrogant and stubborn in her ways. She wishes she had 8 pairs of hands so she could do everything herself (joking but also not).

A reference for my OC, Janis!! (Butch Lesbian, she/her)

She's an eccentric musician who moved to the seaside town of Coral, hoping to be signed by De Vries Records -- an incredibly selective record company ran by her music heroes. Having been inspired by Floyd + Marilyn De Vries and other rock heroes of the 70s/80s since she was a child, it's always been her dream to be a rockstar!

Janis is a frontwoman, vocalist, and electric guitarist. She's been a one-woman band for a long time, creating covers of a large variety of songs to hone in on her style, working on original songs in the background. She daylights as a musician for hire, always working with small bands or filling in if, say, their guitarist is sick and they need a replacement for a show. She yearns for a band of her own, though arguably more selective than even De Vries Records.


Side note, she's a huge fan of the athletic brand "Taurus Athletica" -- I'm still working on their logo and stuff LOL so the design work there you see may not be final!
