Andre is an alligator and the main protagonist of the show. Andre is generally hot-tempered, brusque, severely caustic, and easily irritated. He sees things in a pessimistic manner and dislikes almost everyone and everything surrounding him, making him a genuine misanthrope. Due to his hot temper and occasional tirades of certain things, he has the talent to intimidate anyone who tests his patience and they fear him as a result. Furthermore, Andre is very straightforward and isn’t afraid to state his honest opinion, not even thinking about how rude it would be or how someone would feel about it, for he shows little concerns for their feelings. He dislikes kiddie games and places, candy, puppet shows, and anyone who acts like an idiot, mainly Paul. He also has unreasonable bad luck and arbitrary predicaments, for bad things occasionally happen to him for no reason at all. His anger, as a result, alienates most people around him, and he’s often by himself. Despite his natural anger, Andre does have a caring side and would help out his fellow allies when they need it, although this is mostly out of reluctance and he would only do them when either there is something in it for him or if it is for his own importance. Nonetheless, he cares about them deep down. Moreover, Andre also has a soft spot for pets, (especially Tucker), females who are much nicer to him and treat him fairly, and elderly citizens (when they’re not mean or obnoxious). He is also quite intelligent and logical, showing far more decorum in his lifestyle than many of the other characters. All Andre wants to do is live a normal and peaceful life away from other people, but the others always put him in turbulence. A running gag of the series is that Andre often melts whatever he holds in his hand as he seethes in anger, including something like a cell phone. Andre works at the Rinfreschi Orizzontali diner, with Mr. Razor as his boss. His favorite food is apples and many apple products (such as apple pie). Andre's birthday is on Halloween. His catchphrase, usually said out of annoyance, is “I’m surrounded by imbeciles.
