Just a sketch from January 2021 that I've shared in other places. It was an idea for a scene in Season 5 of Tarot Town.

Another panel from a Season 3 scene I'd thumbnailed out. This one I was using both to test some coloring methods and to further design out Amrita's costume for this scene.

I never did finish the panel, because the test served its purpose, but I still like what's there.

I made this earlier this year both as a general celebration of Pride month and to use as a banner on socials.

These folks are the primary protagonists of Tarot Town (my in-development webcomic). In order:
* The Fool: Seojun Fawkes-Yoo
* Ace of Pentacles: Dan Christian Matthews
* Six of Cups: Zarah Dar
* Seven of Swords: Naomi Jackson
* Three of Wands: Myra Francis Seef

This was the first time I drew my fursona after socially transitioning. I think it had also been a long time since I'd drawn him in general.

I was particularly trying to figure out how to do his hair colors with the short haircut. (Previously it had been like [this](https://www.deviantart.com/refkins/art/Inktober-2017-Day-1-707473315) and like [this](https://www.deviantart.com/refkins/art/College-The-Best-Party-Dress-652387471), so the framing bangs were a mystery.) I ultimately decided to just do with the hair what I do with my clothes: map to whatever I'm doing at the time IRL. (I change my hair color once a quarter lol.)

This one's from Oct. 2021, but it remains one of my faves. <3

Here I am shamelessly catching this account up on stuff I've posted in the past couple years, lol.

Some notes on the progress here:
* I'd had a big hiatus from drawing starting around when I went to college, and while I had a few brief periods of activity in the latter half of the 10s, it wasn't until 2019 that I really started drawing again in a big way. So, in January 2021 I was drawing traditionally for lineart and then coloring digitally on my Surface.
* In April 2021, I got a Cintiq riskily. I was wagering that I'd enjoy drawing digitally more (and do it more) if I had a Very Nice Cintiq and decided to risk being wrong (because I was very confident). Turned out I was right! Cintiq-chan is my wife now.
* Most of the progress in 2021 was very much technical skills growing rapidly as I basically caught up on time I'd missed during that hiatus. It also represented a re-learning of digital art and learning CSP for the first time.
* Because of those ^ factors, a lot of the development also was stylistic as I sort of re-found a voice. Interestingly, comparing things I made during this time to things I made earlier in life (high school, for ex), there's some themes that recur, haha.

I freehanded these folds, and they came out SO good, and everyone has to look at them.

For a while at the end of 2021 I was trying to get to a point where I could make a complete comic panel in under an hour (based on a calculation that longer than that would make making episodes pretty insane.) This is the closest I got.

Since then, though, I've been thinking more about approach and what aspects of making things in an illustration way need to get booted out in favor of speed (like my scratchies on shading) and how to get a similar feel without spending the time required to do those parts. I'll be testing some of those methods out in the new year, I think.

In order to figure out what Seojun's Unique Ability, Warp, (which is basically fast travel/teleportation) would look like, I made a test panel. Both that and the current VFX are here.

I also prototyped how the speech bubbles for Invocation--which is the act of using an Ability--would look, but I'm planning on going with something a little simpler than what I have here. The spirit is the same, though.

I just really like how this sketch of Seojun came out <3 and I'm pretty pleased w/ the current state of the VFX, although they seem to want to be redone each time to really look good, so I might mess with them more to get something that turns into a CSP asset a little more tidily.
