* One of the survivors, the girl, was brought into a pact with the green dragon. When the girl awoke and bathed, she felt the mark of the pact on her chest. She looked in the mirror and saw the mark and its cost: her identity and her intended future.
* The priest is a rogue preacher who hates his Church for their cruelty. He had formed a pact with a devil to gain power to fight back the Church's ambitions in secret. The devil questions the good priest on his violent actions, but the priest is absolute: he would not allow the abuses of his childhood to continue onto others. Nor would he allow God and the teachings to be distorted and manipulated for evil and selfish power. His price for the pact was his freedom, his means to go to Paradise, for a deal with a devil always leads to damnation.
* The elf is an oddity. He did not understand his fellow coppers. Why are they so brutal in their actions? They are meant to hold the peace together, not to harm the innocents. The orc is an oddity. He did not understand his own kind. Why do they commit violence towards fellow humanoids? They are supposed to eat, but there are better options than bloody flesh. The elf and the orc met and made a pact by chance. The price was to share one body. One body, two forms.
* The Dwarf was a medic, unlike her family of gardeners, warriors, and miners. She is taller than your average dwarf, who are usually half an average adult human's height. She is old and a medic with her hands. Until an accident proved too much for her medical knowledge. An fae appeared, he was unlike other fairies. He was a spriggan, an ugly kind of fairy. He had knew the medicines of nature as much as the right magic to heal. However, he cannot use such magic, so he offered a pact with the Dwarf. The Dwarf could no longer use her hands, but she gained magic to heal instead.
* Who is the girl really? The Pact sealed away the girl known to everyone and herself. She is now a woman, fresh to take on a new identity. But she did not want that. She wanted herself back. So the dragon offered a task: travel through the four directions and best the mysterious dragon, and they can undo the pact.
* The Green dragon of the Eastern tales had another human. He was unbound to any pact compared to the girl. He died in that battle with the unknown dragon. It is his sword that the girl must use to fight and survive outside her home town if she wants to end the pact.
* What is the mysterious dragon? It is said to be from the Western stories, but was it? No one knew where the dragon came from, only that it is powerful.
