Since this trade was going to be without a background, I felt emboldened enough to give it a try. I spent days trying to get the perspective working, it was so tricky x.x I'm glad I stuck with it though, since I think it really helped me get into the swing of things again. I'm still kind of stumped on the color usage though, since the character was rather desaturated. I hope I did the right thing keeping the backdrop muted with only a hint of blue/purple for contrast. Did I say how much I love this character's design? Because let it be known, this character is BEAUTIFUL and ADORABLE, and I can't compliment touvkka's character designs enough. 💚

Tried to capture the character's essence with symbolism, and to be more bold with what colors I picked to see just how far I could push contrast before the character's white color looked off. I think I learned a lot working on it, and am really happy and grateful for that!!

Hello Inkblot!! 💚 I'm really excited to make my first post here, since I've heard so many great things about this site. This is my mascot OC by the same name, which is representing me online. She's been through a lot of changes since I first made her in 2016, since I wasn't sure at the time what direction to take her design. All iterations of her has been a vague representation of my current aesthethic preferences and interests at the time, though it was never a conscious thing I put much thought into besides "huh, this might be cool/interesting/pretty!!". Some of her iterations explored some really weird ideas as I tried to make them work 😄 However, with this 2022 version, I returned to her original concept in 2016 and decided to take it in a completely different direction. I've been much more conscious about my design decisions and inspirations now, and I think she now better represents me as an artist. Everything in her design now has a thought out reason behind it, including my new watermark/logo signature that represents her and my art! I really went wild with this and decided I wouldn't change something because I think others wont like it, or if I don't think I would be able to draw it well. This is a very self-indulgent design, one I hope that I will learn a lot from drawing! Though if somebody else likes her too, then I will be overjoyed 😭💚 Thank you for reading and viewing!!

I think it's because their character is just so gorgeous that there is no way the result would end up bad 😂 Thlayli's designs are just THAT good, and they inspire me so much!! I really went overboard with this attack, so this is not something to be expected from any future AF attacks of mine (assuming I can even remember how to do this at all...). Regardless, I'm always working on my skills and working speed, so that I can hopefully attack as many people as possible with as good work I can within a reasonable timeframe per artwork.
