The Last Legacy of Primordial Venators! Terror Birds (Phorusrhachidae) are usually illustrated with tiny wings, I wanted to break away from this trope & showcase it with large wings. It displays them here in a pose, communicating "your life is forfeit". This was also a light/shadow contrast piece. I haven't had a lot of time to experiment since the entire year I've only done commissions. My art mostly focuses on the Paleo side of paleoart, while the art side has suffered of stagnation. It's a muscle I haven't had time to flex in a long while. I am extremely proud with how this piece came out.

Today is the centennial of Inostrancevia!! To celebrate, here's some paleoart of a family unit of the largest Gorgons. A mother rests with her newly-hatched pup, while its father stares at the last evening of his life, as the gangrene will claim his life after the setting of his last Sun. The wound was likely inflicted in a territorial fight with another Inostrancevia. For my non-paleontology followers, I should explain that a gorgonopsid is an offshoot of the "proto-mammals" that ruled the Earth before dinosaurs had evolved. Inostrancevia is among the largest of the gorgonopsids and it ruled Siberia as the top predator during Permian ages. They were predators that evolved the sabertoothed condition long before the sabercats appeared.

I guess I'm going to introduce myself to the community: hi, I'm (mostly) a paleoartist who's interested in synapsids, so mammals and our relatives/ancestors. And sometimes I just make art of whatever the hamster council that runs my brain comes up with. I work in 3d and 2d, thought 3d has been my main focus lately. I'm horrible at actually finishing pieces, and am drowning in WIPs. I really hope this site takes off, and wish the creators success. We really need a place where we can show our art without worrying about some corporate dorks ruining things for the rest of us.
