• Raavi's childhood was decent, despite been raised in an orphanage that made little to no money on the edges of Waterdeep. He grew up hungry, but relatively happy. He made friends at a young age and was quite popular with the other kids who were fascinated with his horns and stark hair colour. After a few years, Raavi and his friends began to mingle with more people outside of the orphanage now that they were old enough. He would often be picked on for the same things that made him popular as a child, and his friends turned on him, not wanting to receive the same hate for being friends with him. Hurt and confused, Raavi turned to petty criminal activity to prove he was better at life than them, and in the hope he would steal enough to get away from this place.

After a few years of this, now being around 16, he was taken notice by a man around the same age as him, who introduced himself as Maxa. Raavi was hesitant at first but quickly finding himself comfortable around him, and soon fell for him. Maxa was well dressed, seemed like he was well fed, too; and when Raavi would express his distaste for the orphanage, Maxa asked if he would like to come with him, to work with a group of powerful, wealthy people; where Raavi could hone his skills and leave the orphanage.

He and Maxa's relationship growing stronger as they aged, their trust and bond deepening and it wasn't long before they both were deeply in love. They would often sneak out at night, making their way to different rooftops to look at the stars and fantasize about their future. The two of them unaware of the fate that awaited them.

Having grown into a man now, aged 21, Raavi was allowed some more freedoms given he had finished his training; and would often walk around the city. What he would see, now that he was old enough to understand was twisted and almost evil. corruption everywhere. Homeless people begging for food while nobles would scoff at them as they pass by, knowing they would go home to be welcomed with a filling meal.

He would bring this up to his superiors but they would brush him off, scoffing at him just like the nobles to the homeless. "Those people couldn't afford our help if we gave it away for free!" he was told. Ordered to ignore it, but he couldn't. He spoke to Maxa, who was hard to convince, basically raised by the Zhentarim, indoctrinated into their ways, blind to the fact that they weren't helping those who were really in need, until Raavi opened his eyes. Over the next few months the two of them planned an escape. They didn't now much about other Zhentarim facilities but this one had deadly consequences for those who wanted to leave. They finally made their move, timing everything perfectly, however, some of the soldiers they trained with had found their plans and took it upon themselves to kill Raavi and Maxa themselves, trying to show off to the higher ups.

The battle was brutal, Raavi suffered many attacks, as well as being cruelly scared by the leader of these brutes, changing how he speaks, eats and drinks for the rest of his life. During the battle, Maxa was killed, sending Raavi into a rage, using every ounce of anger, pain, guilt and love for his partner to kill the remaining aggressors, not knowing that the leader survived his rage - barely. He carried Maxa's body away, burying it under a cherry tree.

Raavi, unsure of how much time had passed, in physical and emotional agony, he wandered the streets of Waterdeep that night. He eventually stumbled onto the doorstep of his old orphanage. Memories flooding back, his body not being able to take another step having lost so much blood, he fell, hitting the ground.

He had been found and taken in by the Harpers, an enemy faction of the Zhentarim. They held him at arms length but fed him well, and treated his wounds. Unfortunately there was not much they could do for his face, and he began wearing a mask to hide the painful reminder of his lovers death, eventually enchanting it to help others understand his speech.

Once he was healed, and healthy, Raavi offered to repay his debt to the Harpers by joining their forces. He was able to give insight into the Zhentarim, and after a few years of keeping Raavi in their sights at all times, out of fear of him betraying them, he gained their trust. Raavi, now a member of the Harpers was being sent on his first important mission, after doing many smaller ones for them over his time with them. He has been sent to The Spine of the World to safeguard their settlements of Ten-Towns, while concealing his Harper affiliation. Credible threats to Ten-Towns include the Arcane Brotherhood and the Zhentarim. He was told to avoid Targos as it was believed to be controlled by his old organization, and to meet with his contact, a human named Beldora, who poses as a homeless woman gathering information in Bryn Shander.

  • A throwaway character that my server seems to love for some reason, so he has a backstory now.

Bryan the elsen, son of a wealthy sugar processor in Zone 3. Being the eldest, he was held to a ridiculously high standard and expected to take the helm after his father's passing. But Bryan wanted something else out of life. He began experimenting with making different sugar flavors.
In school he was a delinquent, always failing classes and getting into trouble. He finally got kicked out of his home, leaving him to fend for himself in the streets, leaving him with nothing but his sugar. He would add different ingredients to it by digging stuff out of the trash, edible or not, eventually creating crush, a highly addictive and dangerous strain of sugar. Most crush users went burnt within a year.
Eventually Mel the cop arrested him in Zone 1. He saw an opportunity to make money off of Bryan's crush, so they teamed up and started distributing it across the Zones. Thanks to the uncaring Zone Guardians, they were free to commit their crimes without interference.

That's more or less his backstory, it can change depending on which fanon you follow.

  • Hello everyone, this is my first post! Today I am introducing my webcomic protagonists. The lead is Morgan (right) and the second lead is Edil (left). My comic is a simple story about the wobbly time of early adulthood, and I love to illustrate the themes of hospitality, love, kindness, and food.

Morgan is a self-made success who spends his earnings irresponsibly, and Edil is the black sheep of a wealthy and well-accomplished family. They are such difficult characters for me because they have moments of being severely flawed; Edil is a failure in his academic endeavor, and Morgan's lifestyle choices are contentious and selfish. It is a delicate subject and I am not sure how it will be received by readers; I want to approach it responsibly so that I show a positive example and convey a meaningful moral. You know, I think you have to be a good person if you want to write good characters. Sometimes I wonder if I am a delusional person. I don't want my characters to be deluding each other and licking each others' wounds while they persist to be wrong. Kindness, understanding, and the want for good things for others are themes that I explore a lot of in my story. My characters need to grow up, and so do I. I trust that readers will have forgiveness for characters who earn forgiveness after their flaws. I want to write precious characters who grow up and become strong.

So, this is my youthful early-twenties story that I must start and finish in my early-twenties. When I'm older and more mature, I'll look back on this and maybe think it's a piece of ****. This is my time capsule of all my identity, thoughts, and interests at this time of my life.

  • November post

Just Jahn here doing some party tricks in a local tavern, perhaps summoning a Lute to play for a good show

Figured out a style for a permanent outfit for myself as well, I really think the way I want to go with it fits very well with Jahn being a thief, practical but still looks good~

One last thing, a little snippet of Lore when it comes to Dragon culture to explain his horn rings:
It is very rare to see any self respecting Dragon or Dragonoid in general without some kind of adornments or jewelry, a very common one is horn adornments
More wealthy dragons usually having more elaborate & more precious gems & metals used, as it is usually seen as an extension of one's wealth/hoard & self confidence
Those who do not are usually looked at upon in pity

  • Cresconius (Cresc), local werewolf, twilight cleric of Selune, jeweller, and bad boy (or good boy, depending on the day and perspective). Son of a bookshop/cafe owner (and also a werewolf) named Diego. A relatively wealthy family of father (Diego), son (Cresconius), and 13 y/o daughter Dervana. The topic of local clergy gossip as he’s the only person who got his cleric status by being an angst y 16 y/o grieving his mother’s death and yelling at his goddess long enough. People still don’t believe he bullied her into actually talking to him. And he wouldn’t have, had he not been from a clan of werewolves long connected to the goddess. Their relationship is more of a working companionship than of a devotee and his goddess, but it has become a more amicable one over the years.

  • Clara Donnerbart, my dwarven cleric!
She's a bit ditzy but has her heart in the right place. As the daughter of a wealthy family, she's used to the luxuries of life and yet, strives to help those in need.

  • Hikari Azeria, the white fox in blue robes. She’s a chaotic good kitsune ranger that grew up on the streets. She understands how rough life can be and she’ll help anyone in need but she's also mischievous and will steal shiny things and prank nobles since they live a life of luxury without working for it. She grew up with a rough life on the streets instilling a thief's mindset at a young age, however can empathize with the poor due to her disdain towards the wealthy.

This was apart of my sculpture series in my 2020 seniar seminar art class.

  • ### Dalia: Part of a criminal sister duo :) Dalia is much more sinister than her younger sister thought. She causes problems on purpose, and she encourages her sister to do the same! . Unlike her sister, she was never looking to find any special talent of hers, and she always takes up different roles, so nothing ever felt natural to her. Some say it may be acting, or persuasion, but she learned how to be good at those skills. They're far from talents. . She's awfully uptight about the missions she's sent on, even more so when her sister is involved (not that Camille gets sent out without her). Quite the managerial bitch if anyone's ever seen one...
    ------
    ### Camille: Her deal?? shes a criminal :) with her "twin" sister :D originally just two lowlifes who'd mug the first person they'd see, now they work for "Raventhorne," a crime organization that's famous for casino, bank, and wealthy house robberies :D . Camille's special talent is picking locks, but she can unlock a lot of things if you give her a bit more time! . Despite her history and outward demeanor, she's actually very timid, and the younger sister. She's really only known her sister and the organization, and she couldn't fend for herself if she tried. Generally very obedient and a people (pony??) pleaser :) The only time you'll catch her "let loose" is during a robbery when tensions are high and the adrenaline is running.

  • Jenane, from the movie Azur et Asmar (2006), Aka one of my favorite films of all time. She's the most wealthy merchant in her city, a woman of character who started at the bottom and ended up at the top, and the mother to two "princes" (both destined to marry Fairy Queens). The beautiful tales she sang for them when they were children inspired them to do great things.
