Usually we label these artworks as either student or teacher but it's a bit harder in this case since Sunshine Kim is both! Sunshine was a great student and now teaches the very popular Digital Figure Painting course.

The short story below is correlated with the image above.:

"My name is Catherine. I was born with a weak immune system. So weak that if I end up catching something, I could die. It's a curse I'm permanently bound to. Before I could go to school, I had to go to the doctor with my parents to prepare for interacting with other kids. I was recommended to wear a mask the whole day and could not take it off. Every school year, the other kids looked at me funny. Some spread rumors about me. Some even tried to take my mask off. The moment they tried, they ended up on the ground, covering their own face. I got mixed reactions from my teachers when this happened. Some didn't care and some reprimanded me. One time when a teacher punished me for not taking my mask off when answering her question, I told my parents and I cannot tell you how small that teacher looked when my parents yelled at them for putting my life at risk. I barely had friends. Not many people were understanding of my predicament and would sometimes ridicule me for wearing my mask.
Finding a job was tough. I wanted to pursue a career in fashion design, but my interviews did not go well. They either thought my mask was unnecessary, unappealing, or had trouble understanding me, even though I did my best to make my voice clear enough. I ended up getting an office job that thankfully didn't require me to speak too much. However, that didn't go well after being poked and prodded about my mask by my coworkers. While some were understanding, others thought I was full of **** and ridiculed me for it. I ended up quitting when the ridicule took a toll on my mental health and made me feel ashamed to wear this mask, even though I needed it to live.
As the years go by, it got worse for me. I was harassed everywhere I went with my mask by men, women, even teens. I could count on two hands the attempts to rip my mask off by random strangers. Sometimes they got knocked out by either me or someone else, sometimes the police were called. Fortunately, I was never arrested, but I was ready to lose my mind. My parents recommended I ignore the assholes, and I lost it on them, blaming them for my condition. I may have stepped too far with that, but ignoring doesn't always fix the problem.
My patience was disappearing, and my tolerance for other people was gone. I hated humanity. Humanity to me was an unavoidable disease that was putting me at risk. I had nothing but a desire to be free from that encroaching disease, finally take this wretched mask off, and smile for the first time in decades. But then, nobody will ever see my smile, except for me. It'll be like how it has always been. A cruel fate was handed to me, and my only escape is death. Ironic how much I want to escape, yet I want to live. What cold mortality."

I don't have any plans with this character, but I feel like sharing.

My boys!! My best friend and I have this lovely story about these two. The entire concept was to have a sunshine cutie character that secretly has the absolute WORST life (Owen, strawberry blonde), and his bad boy love interest, who's actually had a pretty good life (Loïc, black hair). We thought it would be funny since its usually the other way around.

Owen grew up really rough, incredibly pressure from his parents to be perfect, lots of fighting, and then eventually a divorce that they blamed on him, told him to his face it was his fault. Both parents fought over who would get Owen to live with them, not because they wanted him, but to get back at each other. Eventually Owen picked his mother and his father, an alcoholic, drank himself to death not to long after. His mother blamed him for his death. With no further incentive to keep him, his bother abandoned him at an orphanage and disappeared.
Owen spent most of his young life with few friends, but always did his best in school. Outwardly, he was perfect. Happy, bright, the biggest suck-up imaginable, the teacher's pet, the honor roll student, and yet none of it made anyone love him the way he hoped it would.
By 16, by was emancipated, unable to stand living in orphanage after foster home after temp family. He picked up a few jobs, got a cheap car, and adopted a cat. Now he's just trying to get by without going insane and giving in to the incredible amount of grief in his heart.

Thats where Loïc comes in. I'll talk about him in a different post :P

A former military man turned teacher, Alistair may seem hard on the outside, but all he wants is for his students to do well. He has reasons to be bitter, but his academic charges are not counted among them.

Aleksei is a mechanic and he's also a super smart guy! He just hates normal academia settings though ;; He was a runner up valedictorian in high school (he skipped out on class a lot but teachers can't complain b/c he gets perfect scores nearly all the time welp)

Matilda is a diner waitress but also a co-owner of said diner because it's her parent's own and she'll get it next. She doesn't like cooking but she likes interacting with people. She knows how to get along with all sorts of people while being her real self ;v;

Reuben is a middle school english teacher. He also likes to write stories, though he's too shy to show them to anyone aside from his spouses. He gets really creative ideas on how to solve problems whether it's at school or at home ~

After uploading Ohio's reference sheet and tutorial, now I have Mrs. Mayberry finished! She also has her own fully-colored character reference sheet!

For those who don't know or remember Mrs. Mayberry, she is a sinner demon who appeared in Episode 1 of Helluva Boss season 1. She was a schoolteacher who went to Hell, because while teaching at school, she meant to call her husband on his birthday, only to discover him having an affair with Martha. She went back home to kill them both, but Martha survived; hence why she went to IMP to pay them to take her down.

Sally was a stellar student and she came back to Syn Studio as a great teacher! She teaches Intro to Creature Design. Sally is currently taking a break from teaching to work on a big project but we hope for her to be back soon!

Made this for a history class assignment the teacher digged it surprisingly.

Teacher: This character taught youngsters in the basics of math, reading, writing and scientific principles. If it was permissible in his or her community, the instruction of ancient history up until the cataclysm would also have been taught — although what this teacher knows to be true might differ greatly from what really happened. Sun moon and Talia was the original sleeping beauty.
Alice saw what the prince did to Talia and decided this girl deserves better. Honestly I think we all will be happy with this one. With one simple wish made changes the story completely. Gift of beauty, gift of song, and a curse that can be only fixed by true love? Last time I checked as a future ruler beauty and song doesn’t cut it right? What if the song was changed to a gift of wisdom? The girl could use some brains, correct? Let’s see this change as the native girl is gone.
Once upon a time there was a little princess born to the world. Her name is Talia, princess of the sun. Her eyes glowed beautifully as the sun, her skin gentle as the softest silk, and her eyes green as an emerald. A picture perfect of the queen and king, yes? Two fairies showed up with gifts for the young princess but 3 were supposed to show up. The queen suggested waiting as the third fairy when forgotten, being known to be angry and warning her husband but the king wouldn’t listen saying “we invited her, maybe she lost the invitation. We will explain when she gets here dear” as he started the party. There was fun and dancing throughout the night for the young princess. When the gifts came to start a prince gifted young Talia a beautiful necklace as the two would be married one day. When the fairies' turn came it was to give their gifts. The first fairy waved her wand saying “ I give her the gift of beauty. Making her beautiful as the morning sun”
the second one came up and said as she waved her wand “ I give her the wisest brain in the kingdom. Smart as the day is long” but a slam was heard. It was the third fairy. Without getting an explanation she cursed the young princess to die from a spinning wheel on her 16th birthday. Then the queen took her to the side to explain and she realized she didn’t get the invite. She could only weaken the curse to a 100 year sleep sadly by true love kiss.
Fast toward them raising the princess with elegance and with her studying and learning to sing by a teacher. She became smart like a tact and even learnt how to use archery and a sword. She became the ideal ruler by 15 for her kingdom ready to do anything for it. But during her 16th birthday things would go wrong as they would start burning all the spinning wheels. Someone with bad intent would hide one away from everyone. At the strike of midnight after the party Talia would never awake as she was poked with the spindle of the spinning hell by someone. The 3 fairies would send the kingdom under a big sleep so she wouldn’t wake up alone. They would wake up when she did.
One day a king would come and find her, but instead of kissing her. He raped her to fulfill his terrible desires, but this act he would grow to regret. She soon became pregnant. The fairies saw this and helped take care of her, even her twins. She woke up when her baby daughter was playing and kissed her cheek. She hugged her but instantly knew who raped her as the king walked in glaring at him. He tried sweet talking her into coming with him but she asked the third fairy to take her children into another room. She was handling it herself. She walked toward the king. He thought she was going to kiss him before she held him up against the wall, choking him. As he finally dies he throws the king out of her tower. She walked back to the fairies as she married who she was betrothed to, smiling. He understands what happened in her tower and wished he could protect her from it.
