    Tanya's a little kitten with a bug heart! So big in fact, that when she wished on a star, her wish came true! Transformed, into a little girl, she was tasked to fulfil the wishes of boys and girls, and animals all over the world!

    I'm going to be rigging her as a full body vtuber on Monday's on my twitch Channel.

  • ORIGINALLY UPLOADED OCTUBER 24/2022

    So at the time I was thinking on project ideas to do next, and i thought... Since My last uploads were 3 original characters, I decided this time to try doing a character that already exists, something that I almost never do. So I went on looking for more obscure franchises that might not have 3D models made, and found just what I was looking for: Spades Slick, from Andrew Hussie's Homestuck.

    I have to admit, I was a bit astonished that Spades didn't have any 3D models made of him, considering he's one of the most popular characters of the comic, but still I went right to work as soon as I picked the target. Character is fully rigged, including the 2 weapons, the body and the face. My first facial rigging too! I'm putting this model completely free, provided credit is given of who made it. Also you can't use it for commercial purposes, for obvious reasons.

    MODEL WAS MADE IN BLENDER WITH BLENDER'S SHADING NODES. I CAN NOT GUARANTEE THE MODEL WILL WORK THE SAME IN OTHER ENGINES.

    My final project for the Advanced term at ThinkTank Online! I learned a lot from this term and probably made about the same number of mistakes, but it has been a very enjoyable and inspirational 4 months! Project took about 9-10 weeks, from blocking out, sculpting, texturing and rigging. Much thanks to my instructor Fred Arsenault (https://www.artstation.com/fredericarsenault) for his guidance and expertise in stylized art. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher! :D

  • Back in December I stumbled on [Hero Forge](https://www.heroforge.com/), which seems to be the best-quality and fullest-featured custom miniature maker on the Web. How I found it is lost to memory, but I had so much fun with it that I bit the bullet and registered an account, as it lets you save mockups for free.

    A major boon of HF is that parts can be easily swapped while retaining the underlying rigging. Hence, with just a couple tweaks to [the original](https://inkblot.art/post/039VqPcP2ACFv2fsUecN), CivGeneral can go full furry!

    I say v.1 because I'll use this character as a way to try to find my own style and experiment.
    This is also the first thing I do 100% in Blender since I ditched Maya, Substance and Unreal. I followed a regular scupt-retopo-shading-rigging-lighting and rendering path. I also tried some particle system for the hoodie.

    I also used semi-realistic eyes and the new Blender particle system for the hairs but I'm not sur it fit the stylisation of the character (like I said, I'm experimenting at this point)... we'll see...
