Hevos is a big world, it has all the climatic zones from deserts to tundra. Let’s see some ideas about the desert section :3
I don’t relate think Hevos has endless sand dunes (for now), it is rather that filled huge rocks kind of desert (just like in Utah.) Big mountains and endless hotness with limited water, awesome, vivid colours, clashing blues and purples with warm oranges.
But it also has some warm plains, which is still rocky, but rather flat and the only big objects that are breaking the scenery up are those huge ruins.
Hevos is big, it has lots of space, huge mountains and cliffs and the ruins are also massive. All the creatures have normal sizes, but their world is towering above them - just like mountains do in our world. Hevos also has lots of untamed places just yet - the population is indeed rising and the frontier is being pushed out more and more, but the world still has just enough wilderness to have space and place to wild stories and big adventures, ancient secrets and magic. The characters who live in it are still able to travel freely, but the communities who decided to stay in place and grow in numbers and thrive, making a constant home for themselves slowly reaching the edge of the wild forests and untamed mountains, discovering the secrets behind the tales and bothering creatures who rather wanna be alone, frozen in time.
This doesn’t mean the communities start to build cities - we still talk about animals - but they have civilization, they have rules and borders, they learn and slowly they will exchange their mythical world to a new one, which is based on facts and not tales, where monsters are not existing anymore and maybe magic is also just another fairy tale they used to tell to each other generations ago.
Hevos and every living creature in it is at the edge of progression, which serves the greater good, but still demands some sacrifices in the form of loosing the time where magic and odd creatures, tales and heroes, big adventures and legends dictated the rhythm in of the world.
