Second post on Inkblot!

Lately, I've been redesigning my Overwatch OC, Nova! I originally created them back in 2022 with [this design](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/493662528048463874/1102172730234765353/novaref.png), but I slowly grew disatisfied with how it looked. I didn't get around to giving them a huge update until now. Her new design's definitely a bit of a far cry from what she used to look like, but I'm super happy with how it looks now!

Some blurb for those with some familiarity of the game: She's a damage-role hero. As the description suggests in the sheet, she's an astronaut hailing from the Philippines. She formerly worked for Lucheng Interstellar until an incident caused her to gain cosmic powers. Overwatch offered to take her in to train her as an agent while also giving her a second chance to continue her dreams of space exploration.

Species:Kumiho(Gumiho)

Appearance: In human form-Long orange red hair in, brown eyes, sandy beach colored skin, wears the school uniform and a mulberry jumper non-school days. In Kumiho form- White long hair in braid and rolled into a ball shaped form at the nape of her neck, white skin with red-orange fox markings, orange fox ears with black tips, nine white-tipped orange fox tails, yellow eyes with red irises, a ramie cloth hanbok: red jeogori(blouse shirt) and black chima(a wrap-around skirt) with geumbak-printed patterns (gold leaf) on the bottom. And the Fox marble.

Strength:Yeowu Gusel(fox marble), powers of seduction, fire abilities through either their mouths or tips of their tails, howl, and extreme speed.

Weakness: Vulnerable to explosives or high-piercing blades, especially on the throat.

Likes: Meat(hearts and livers of men), meditation music, poetry, and calligraphy.

Hates: Electronic music, rave parties, Djs, vegetables, movies, comic books, school, and female humans.

Her one goal is to eat the heart and liver of Cula for she believes that she'll gain his vampire powers and to become the most powerful Kumiho ever.

The perfect punishment for is to be sealed away for a thousand days and on a strict diet of vegetables so that she'll become human and lose all of her evil tendencies.

based on one of my characters from a story i'm working on. i did this mid-2022 and the colour effect was from me sliding the hue slider back and forth slowly on one of the overlay layers and recording my screen to make a gif out of it.

Vanda (The gerudo with the massive hair-do) is my character from an old LoZ role playing group, Vanda was a healer, who was on a quest to find a cure for her entire clan and herself, this illness or curse they were afflicted with caused hair loss, and slowly sucked the nutrients out of the body, causing them to become frail, and eventually pass on. Vanda thankfully on her adventure found this wingless Rito, a Keaton trickster, and a kind hearted, and rather fancy Gerudo man and among others who wished to help her. Eventually Vanda did find the cure, although she's still a bit frail, her hair grew back violently quick.

I have been messing around with blender for 3 days now and these are some of the things I have made so far. I still have a lot to learn (like how to give my sculptures better texture) but I feel like I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

Today's theme is redemption, and I got a strange bit of inspiration when I noticed that Redcap was among the list of legendary creatures starting with the letter R.

Redcaps are faery who kills people in a compulsive need to paint their titular caps red with blood, as if their hat ever lost their luster, they will die, and blood turns brown quite fast too, so it's a vicious cycle.

Thus I got this idea for a redcap who decided to try and break the cycle, and tie his cap around his sickle, only using it for self defense, and curbtail his violent tendency as his life slowly comes to an end. Sometimes blood spills to the cap and keep him going for a bit longer, but never shall he seeks it on his own. Eventually, after one dawn, all that's left of him were his iron boots and his sickle.

Sitting within the Abyss, I spend my time studying to unlock hidden knowledge in the nights' tenebrous hours. My dark muse always by my side, keeping me company, strengthening my back, and guiding my hands.

Mälgrez (meɪlgɾɛz), cosmos or space in Ënokhan and also the name of a thïsenyär. Far too busy harnessing the chaos of the universe, Mälgrez is a quiet one, quieter than the Void-God who forged him, but possibly one of the most important among his peers. At first glance, many would assume this deity analogous to Atlas. Mälgrez does not carry any interstellar objects upon his shoulders, but this divine is determined to protect the solar system Ënokh is in. Mälgrez is more of a guide to Andeamer, or any being who seeks his wisdom and knowledge. Andeamer are just as curious of the universe they inhabit as humans. To better understand the world, the universe, the inherent chaos of existence, they look to Mälgrez, the guide to the stars, the eternal scholar of the fabric of reality.

Going through my old artwork at the time reminded me of something that was said about me a long time ago:

"If it's not a fox or a dragon, I don't think she could do it."

This isn't a phrase that haunts me, nor am I an advocate for spite as a prime motivator for making art (okay, maybe a little bit), but I did reflect on things a bit while making this.

I've had a long history of focusing on one or two subjects in my work, especially when I was still in public school. I even gained some notoriety as "the dragon artist" during this time, and while I wear that title proudly, my ideas have more variety than I ever could have hoped for, especially back then. I think that phrase stuck with me for this reason, along with it being from an unexpected source. I think this speaks to the evolution of not only my design work overall, but to the scope of my characters and stories.

While there certainly is merit to defying your naysayers, I wanted this to be a more positive reflection; a small sample of what I am capable of now, a mix of old and new. Yes a dragon, a fox, an owl, a cat, not the least bit unexpected. But there's so much more. You want a butterfly-moth hybrid that can wield a bow and arrow? A sea monster queen with rainbow hair? A spunky shapeshifter with a tiger arm? Either way, I got you. B)

Hello.

I’m going to dedicate some time to using this account, so I’ll be slowly updating the content here. I’m not quite sure how I want to go about using the account, but I sure want this whole service to be successful.

The Membership Drive was successful and I’m really happy to have helped out. And seeing InkBlot reach it’s goal has inspired me to use it more. The whole mission of InkBlot inspired me and made me hopeful.

I use IG and Twitter to post my art. And it’s been great. But I’m feeling the pressure to keep posting. At the height of the pandemic, I was posting fan comics on IG every week. That got exhausting, and I burnt out. Perhaps I’ll chat about this more at a later point.

My goal with this account is to post more original and experimental art. I also appreciate the ability to post walls of text/blog posts. Perhaps I’ll also try to get into more of the community projects here too. I’ll end this blog on that note, with hopes that I post more soon.
