• This project was created in collaboration with the LWL Museum für Naturkunde in Münster, Germany, for the exhibition "Lebenskünstler Mensch". A variety of media, including illustrations and animations, was produced to teach visitors of the museum about the conditions under water and how both various animals as well as humans have adapted to those.

  • This was actually a very experimental process with a whole lot of failures in all honesty. Short form of this is…

    1. Tried to hand paint scales.. That was a horrible idea and they were not scaled properly to my illustrations.

    2. Tried to make a scale brush??… That also didn’t pattern realistically for me. :“’D

    3. Found a black and white very simple white snake scale texture that I polarized even further. I inverted it and just copied and pasted the texture and warped it all over their bodies on each illustration. This weirdly enough worked!

You can see a lot of this usage in many of my snakes, especially in the black and white rougher stages. The only areas I would hand paint are the belly scales and the faces. As snake scales in these areas are pretty unique and need extra love and attention. I hope this helps a bit!

  • This is one of a set of illustrations that I made featuring characters from the graphic novel I'm working on titled Crown of Thorns, a grimdark fantasy story that emphasizes the point that not all fairy tales have a happy ending. This is one of the three main protagonists, Gerard.

  • Years ago, a friend was working on their first novel, and I was helping out with editing and spot illustrations. Unfortunately, it did not get very far, but it was fun while it lasted. This illustration was the first instance where I realized that illustration might be an option for me. I enjoyed the textured inking style I used here, and would definitely like to experiment with it more.

I'm a sucker for unnatural/unique markings on animal characters. It's just fun.

  • Hello!
I design in game assets for Everskies in my spare time!
I am begining to upload them here as I hope to use this as my main portfolio and need somewhere to put my showcases. I am going to be uploading multiple together though, that way I'm not flooding the explore page with my designs >_<

    Anyway...

    1. 'Amongst the Strawberry Fields' (June 2023) - Set designed by IceCremz on Everskies. Based on the 1980's Strawberry Shortcake illustrations.

    2. 'SpaceDust' (July 2023) - Set Designed by IceCremz on Everskies.

  • This year, I completed:
    - 118 illustrations - some I put into groups because they were a set of items or cheebs
    - 6 beast bases
    - 48 comic pages
    - 8 tutorials/tips
    - 4 timelapse videos

All of these can be found on my [sfw Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/parallelrift) with a handful floating over on Twitter and here at InkBlot. Lots of things were accomplished this year, some months had heavier work loads than others and I completed a good, decent amount of personal work this year as well. I will be stepping up my game for 2023, fixing my prices to more professional levels due to the quality of work I offer and my management of time to guarantee most commissions being finished within a week to a month after purchase. I rarely have faltered on this over the years with the exception that sometimes I had other things going on or some commissions had stricter deadlines so they had to be done first above others.

There wasn't a lot of game work this year. Some for Mythika-arpg (on DA) and some done for Eliyo.net. Overall, majority of the YCHs I presented did sell and I was able to save up to my goal amount by the time October 2022 came to light. Didn't do a lot of trades this year, just two, I think, but did 7 Secret Santas, so my December was definitely probably one of the busiest months. Joined a few new Discord servers so I can stay in contact with other artists. Only reached 1 Twitter Follower Raffle Goal this year, which was reaching 500 followers! I also entered a contest, to which I won an Honorable Mention. The most number of Patreon Patrons I had this year was 10 while it stayed at a near consistent 7 at least. My total income from artwork to Patreon this year was just over $3,000...which is still far too low to live off of, especially with the high economy right now.

Some of the downside things that have happened to me this year, just to get out of the way first, is that my FB account was hacked, no one was willing to legit help me, so lost the account and my Insta as that was attached to it. The initial hacking happened in early Oct. All they did was request a password reset and somehow got it without even having access to my email. Even when I said I had not requested such a thing, nothing was done. Even when I presented proof, nothing was done. I cannot afford an advocate so was basically forced to let the accounts go. It sucks because I have no clue what they did and all the things I had on those accounts are just gone forever now. We also had some car repair bills this year as the breaks went out and one of the tires wouldn't stop leaking air because they fixed the rims wrong when they went to rotate the tires >.> And of course, the entire theft and drama with socials and Ai right now is definitely not a good thing either.

Overall, I was also able to attend an anime con this year, one of the Trash Taste tour events, saw an orchestra, attended my first Pride celebration, and was able to attend the Renaissance Festival 3x this year. No animals had major vet bills this year. Mochi did get fixed and Kiwi had 2 ear infections, but for the infections, we were ready this time and had the medicine with us so we took care of it at home and she's all good. Elyza (cat) is at least 10+ years old, Mochi (cat) is 2, Kiwi (dog) is 5 and Onyx (dog) is 4 years of age. We've had to adjust everyone's food this year a couple times, especially with the cost of dog food having doubled...groceries for people right now has also nearly doubled in cost and I haven't seen this since I was like 10...didn't think I'd be living through it twice in my lifetime. We are saving what we can and plan for meals we can easily make and freeze while still remaining as healthy as we can be. December this year has also provided us with a white christmas for once with a good amount of snow that was about 1/4 of the way up my calf. Downside, the temperatures dropped to near extremes and froze the roads into a ice skating rink...so that was fun >.< As of this post, the snow is slowly starting to melt already, but the cold winds linger. Oh, and I also finally used some of that saved up money to update my office so it's more ergonomic...really badly needed it as the previous set up was uncomfortable and a bit problematic.

Thank you everyone and hope this 2023 is a bright year with Wins for creatives.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and wish all the best fortunes.

  • So this is the first in a small saga of illustrations I call the PAMA Saga. I have plans for a jesskas, Jetra, and other favorite scenes of mi1ne. Anyway, I fucking Love the lighting for this piece I struggled mostly with PAMA's hair which is supposed to have Redstone cords inside hair-shaped tubes or something IDK.

I know on the outside Pama is green and black but the red aesthetic in the boss battle at the end is what makes that ep so memorable for me!

Hey all! This was one of four entries for Clip Studio’s Galaxy’s Cutest contest, made with Procreate for the iPad! Since multiple entries are allowed per person, I decided to do a mini series of illustrations featuring my mascot character Starlie and her mom Starlette, baking some cupcakes :’D Hope you like <3

  • More Shirt/print design stuff, this time Zoro! I really love doing stuff like this lately, it's so fun. It makes me think differently than my normal illustrations.

  • More on my OC Kohei.

This piece took me a long time to do as I'm not used to plan simple illustrations like this one! I have learned a lot regardless and I hope to try more challenging pieces in the future!
