A stoic and dangerous warrior-leader in the secluded village of Fiskaross, Muse, much like their name, is a source of inspiration for most trolls under their leadership, especially being the child of Magni, their father. Magni was the greatest chief the village ever had, and was Muse’s greatest role model. Muse grew up to be just like him; they lived by every word he spoke, and they both loved each other like father and child. Until chaos struck, as enormous beasts came and ripped and ate Magni’s people to shreds. But they were strong and resilient, and fended themselves against the horrid creatures attacking them. However, Magni was not spared. Muse swore revenge over their father’s corpse; they flung into rage and managed to kill one of the beasts, being the first troll to ever do so, but not without a heavy cost. It had managed to bite their arm clean off, flaying their skin and letting their blood spill onto the snow. The beast’s dying words have echoed in Muse’s body ever since: “You will become something monstrous, something beyond your comprehension, something of our kin.”
They knew that this would not only be a curse but a promise. Despite the boiling fear, they were appointed chief by their people and would carry on their father’s legacy. Their village was rebuilt to be even greater than before. Unlike their father, they were careful and thoughtful of every choice, listening to their people and thinking through the benefits of the village. With their husbands and advisors, Quaid and Ike, at their side to bring another perspective and knowledge of the lands beyond Fiskaross, Muse laid plans to venture into the unknown to find a cure for their disease-like curse and to avenge their father.
Fiskaross was safe, for now, but one wouldn’t know if another unexpected attack were to arise again until the source of the beasts had been found and destroyed. But it would take a madman to seek such dreadful creatures. Unless that madman was someone looking for a cure as well.
