This project was created in collaboration with the LWL Museum für Naturkunde in Münster, Germany, for the exhibition "Lebenskünstler Mensch". A variety of media, including illustrations and animations, was produced to teach visitors of the museum about the conditions under water and how both various animals as well as humans have adapted to those.

Uploaded to the IOT Wiki in 2020 to replace my original PNG version, neither it nor the main flag were actually used in the UAR's main article, as the community collapsed before I'd completed an extensive redraft. The United Arab Republic was created through the ceremonial merger of my [Holy Egyptian Republic](https://inkblot.art/post/tPvh0oz36k6D5KD4Zm7H) with NedimNapoleon's Syria during the signup phase of *Another Terra: Empires and Nations*, Taniciusfox's attempt to out-Excel Sonereal (to disastrous results). As I [allude](https://inkblot.art/post/5HOEwexIEtSTODQC4ifM) [elsewhere](https://inkblot.art/post/OCHzhMsZfJQe3R9sgI6Z), my original inspiration for Egypt involved the tangible influence of the Old Gods creating a crisis within Islamic theology that spawned an Egyptian heresy combining elements of Kemetic ritual with Islamic monotheistic doctrine, resulting in strong religious influence over state politics into the game's 1950 start. Our actual performance in ATEN was largely unremarkable save for an attempt by arya926 to trick us into disgracing the Indian Ocean Treaty Organization with a sneak attack against Jehoshua's latest Vaticanwank; mounting disillusionment with Tanicius' management resulted in ATEN being the _only_ game from which I retired early, shortly before it collapsed from its own complexity. In Imperium Offtopicum XIV, by contrast, the UAR's origins were not detailed, but it became a keystone player in the global political situation, and probably my most influential faction since the Scarlet Lancers. The unofficial secretary-general of the United Nations, it organized the UN mission to Vietnam and the subsequent war against Japan. A long-game spy-op to break Libya out of Greek control spiralled into the Platonic Republic's collapse after Ailedhoo opted to switch to the rebel faction I had specifically written off, apparently without ever consulting the game moderator as to its guiding ethos. Near the game's end I was essentially allied with KaiserElectric's Germany in a shooting war with Tyo's Soviet Union, a [proxy war](https://www.deviantart.com/el-thorvaldo/art/On-Technocracy-483501567) with Sonereal's "Technocratic Republic", and was on the verge of intervention against christos200's Thailand when the cancelled Tun 19 map revealed it had follow through on invading JohannaK's Malacca. A fully-rendered tribute to a little taod from march 2019 --- Back in 2019 I lived in one of germany's biggest cities and in my local area were some wild animals as well. During march a lot of frogs and toads started to migrate to their spawning waters to find a mate and lay their spawn. You have to know that I I have a weak spot for those animals. I think they are adorable and cute and in my opinion it's sad that a lot of people don't care about them. That particular Monday I came back from the cinema (it was already after 11PM) and noticed that one little toad was lying on the street. It was hit by a car and its guts were clearly visible... Yes, that may sound strange, but I think it's really sad, when a living being gets killed and its remainings are treated like junk, therefore I decided to wrap the corpse in a big leaf and bring it to the roadside, so that it won't be damaged any further. In the moment I lifted the animal, it started to move. It was still alive, although it was terrible hurt and weakly tried to push me away with his little feet. I was shocked and my eyes immediately started to fill with tears, when I realized what I had to do... I couldn't leave it like this.... The poor toad was lethal hurt and surely suffered a lot, because of its terrible wounds.... I understand that I had to deliver it from its pain, but...damn...I felt so terrible after it was done... At that night time I had problems to fall asleep, since I started so cry again and again and I wasn't able to sleep through the night as well. I felt so bad, although I did what was best for the wounded animal, but still... You can call me childish if you want, but it helped me to draw this picture in tribute to the toad and imagine that it's soul is at a better place now. --- You are not allowed to use/steal/copy this picture or use it to train AI.
