I didn't know what to paint so my spawn told me to paint a small round bird.  Well black-capped Chickadees are a small round bird.  So here is Fattius Borbius.  Watercolors 

Chickadee, Watercolor paint, Prismacolor pencils, Windsor and Newton gouache on 5x7 strathmore cold press paper I've been wanting to do more studies of birds, and I thought a chickadee would be a good place to start again. I wanted to see how effectively I could paint one in at least a semi-realistic sense, and I feel like I learned a good bit about lighting and how to paint feathers from it. This design was especially fun for me as I wanted to branch out into designs of animals that live around my hometown and on my traditional territory. Chickadees are pretty common, especially in more mountainous areas.
