• Well, it's been over 2 months since Inkblot 2.0 launched and nothing has changed in terms of functionality. In fact, it might've gotten worse as I thought that the entire site was shut down for good since it always had Network errors whenever I wanted to access it and check up on how things are coming along and it appears that it just came back online out of nowhere. Since the admin's communication for this place's future is nonexistent, I won't be posting anything here anymore! (Not unless Inkblot can pull off a No Man's Sky and revitalize the site and bring it back from the dead, but I don't foresee that happening.) I won't be deleting my account here as there's always a chance for this place to turn around someday and I want to keep an archive of my "journey" here, as short as it was.

If you want to continue following me and my art journey, check out my Carrd to see where I post my artwork and also check out the gaming content I posted as well. Here's the link: https://generalsnivy.carrd.co/

  • So uhhh...not feeling this new site design. Was kind of hoping for an old deviant art vibe when I joined this. Now it just kinda feels like every other social media site I could put art on, instead of y'know, a site for art. Also none of my posts transferred cleanly and I don't really feel like fixing them when the site is clearly not finished. Might just break them all again;;;

Sucks because I was really hoping for a new spot that could do this better than tumblr. But I think I won't be posting on here until this site gets itself sorted out. I will probably check back in every so often to see if it decides on something I want to post art on again. If you liked any of my work, I'll be done with my masters soon so I will probably be posting more art there once summer rolls around. It's https://zorritocruzado.tumblr.com/

  • I've been thinking about this for a bit, but many of the design choices that came with this 2.0 update are... baffling, to say the least? The site is actually usable now (it barely worked for me before), but it feels like another Facebook/Twitter clone, rather than an art site. I'll continue to observe how things develop but I'm not sure I'm convinced yet.

I also wanted to test uploading art here but I quite literally can't, I get an error every time.

  • The more I think about it....
The less I like it, unfortunately.

Even putting aside the weird mobile bug that I mentioned in my previous post, things just feel... Off.

Kind of like this is a social media app template and not an art site anymore; like no actual work was done to go from the ideas of 1.0.

There isn't even a way to browse art in a grid view, which is like... The one main thing I expect from an art-focused platform (if there is, I have not found it, and if I haven't found it... Then that's bad design).

I was excited to see 2.0 being out finally, as someone for whom the site was pretty much unusable for the longest time, and also as someone who participated in the initial funding. I don't want to lost hope, and I know 2.0 was JUST released but... With no communication in the discord, or additional info in the email, it doesn't give me a good feeling.

As of now, I don't think I'll try posting on here again. I'll keep an eye on things still, but from a distance.

  • This time I tried to construct more of a scene ahead of time. I’m still trying to get there with backgrounds. This one of the SFW part of my cycle, is of Frelly and Qian together as one of the many couples I might draw.

    ***********************

Frelly and Qian stood together in the docks of the Floating Archipelago, a city scattered among sky islands in a relatively calm border region in the Plane of Air. The city connected to a few other worlds across the planes, where the Tiefling couple were among some of the visitors that walked its streets. Perhaps what was most appealing about the Floating Archipelago was that it had a warm and mild climate, unlike the storms and constant hurricanes found in many other places across the Plane of Air.

“We’re catching this ferry to the Janni Island,” Frelly said as she held on to Qian’s arm as the a ramp unfolded down onto the ferry that just docked.

“What are we doing with a bunch of Air Genasi?” Qian asked hesitantly, as he stepped on to the ramp.

“To see the Wind Dancers in action, and to find ourselves a good airship captain for the other part of the journey.”

“That might be a bit difficult, as I got myself in some trouble the last time I was here with Kess and Thames.” Qian pondered for a moment about what the implications might be. “Let’s say we didn’t leave the best impression with the Cloud Kings, the gang that rules that part of town.”

“Were you being a little fecker about it?”

“Just a bit, I’m pretty sure they won’t try to shoot us on sight at least.”

“And to think this was going to be a boring trip, but I don’t think it was only you.”

“You're right about that, it wasn’t completely about me. It was more about these two girls, twins, that I shagged, who happened to be the daughters of a big Cloud King boss. And I somehow got into a fight with a bunch of Cloud Kings when they walked in on us.” Qian looked at Frelly, as she spread her wings and glared at him, looking like she was ready to pounce.

“Oh for ****’s sake! Am I going to have to give you spanking later on?”

“Maybe, I just hope there aren’t any other surprises. Kess and Thames also got in some fights with the Cloud Kings too.”

“This might be a long ferry ride, me love,” as Frelly took a seat on the main deck of the ferry.

“Enough of that, we’re still on vacation, let’s enjoy the view.”

Frelly kissed Qian on the lips, “Whatever would I do without you? You need to show me what you did with those girls, as I think there’s still a spanking you still need to get.”

  • It's nice to see that Inkblot 2.0 finally launched, but MAN, is it as buggy as ever! What's crazy is that my timeline doesn't display my posts in the correct order, which should be from my latest drawing (according to version 1.whatever it was) to my oldest drawing! Why it's not doing that, I'm not sure. I also cannot reupload my old banner as it doesn't tell me why it can't be uploaded. It just says that something went wrong, and nothing else! I know that Inkblot 2.0 just launched so I'm willing to give it time before I start uploading my backlog of artwork since the last one I posted on here due to the upgrade. Once the sorting order is figured out, then I'll continue to upload here. Otherwise, I might just say "forget it" and just stick to DeviantArt, Bluesky, and Itaku. I may consider Fur Affinity as another potential place to post my artwork, but we'll have to wait and see how things play out first.

  • Cleared my entire upload history because otherwise there would be a 2+ year jump in between old and new art. I can see stuff again on here (wasn't able to for a really long time)
The website being back (in its new version) was pretty sudden, and I'll have to take time to figure everything out now that it's all new, but I hope that this time it'll be usable

I've been active on bsky the most, and I'm not planning on re-posting anything here, but the profile is linked in my bio (hopefully we get that option for social links soon!).

I also got rid of the second account that I had on here for doodles as I have stopped posting those on single-gallery websites (i.e., without a "scraps" gallery).

It looks like the "blogs" page isn't working (yet?) so I'm just putting this in a regular post for now.

[edit] I hope there will be a chronological feed and not just "popular" and "suggested" posts. Right now that's all I'm seeing on the front page

[edit 2] I think the lack of a chronological feed might be because I'm not following anyone (yet), but I don't really feel tempted to follow anyone when the only accessible posts are the same few "popular" ones
I've also noticed a bug in the mobile version of the website (I did send a bug report) that makes it unusable (it keeps forcing me to the previous page seemingly randomly), so I'll only be using it on desktop for now.

  • made these w my left hand

[ID: First image: A page of traditional drawings made with the artist's non-dominant hand. The lines are all squiggly, but confident nonetheless. Two of these doodles portray a person without a face, and in one of them they are pulling on a string hung from the ceiling with force. There's also another drawing, but this time it's of a big bell.

Second image: A traditional sketch made with the artist's non-dominant hand. There are two drawings, one of a person with their face covered looking over their shoulder, and another of an arm holding a thin pen. The person's bony back is visible, and their right arm is obscured by their torso.

Third image: A traditional sketch in red ink, which was made with the artist's non-dominant hand. There are three squiggly drawings of a faceless person, their face hidden behind a geometrical shape. The drawings depict them down on the floor, avoiding eye contact, and throwing their hands in the air to make unknown signs respectively.

Final image: A traditional sketch in red ink made with the artist's non-dominant hand. It depicts a person without a face doing a peace sign close to the viewer. There's text behind them that reads: Share your beautiful unemployed soul to the world and let it change the color of the seas. End ID]

More fanart and more Look Outside fanart. It got the 2.0 update recently, so what're you waiting for?? Go play it!

This was just a simple, pixel art project that I dediced to do in between working on comms. It was one of my quickest projects, 1 hour and 20 minutes or so...and that's cuz of me using a tool i'm not used to. Pixelorama is such a great tool...

Enjoy, ya weird salamanders! Follow my other accounts here! Also the timelapse and the sketch render are all free on my patreon and video accounts!
