• I haven't done art of something that isn't a fictional character in a long time, but this ship might as well be one, considering its importance in my story, Parallels. This is the Barracupid, a decommissioned steam-powered airship that was bought at an auction for Priscilla Sauveterre by her father for her high school graduation. It's named after the barracuda, due its appearance, and Cupid, due to its "fins" being "wings". Priscilla uses it to travel around the world and to find inspiration for her art.
The idea of the ship was inspired mostly by the Saint Nazaire from the CGI cartoon, Skyland. This is also a color concept, I might make some changes or add more detail, but the general shape or form is final.

  • This character served aboard an airship and took on the caste title of aeronaut. So too, he or she gained considerable knowledge of their own region, having visited most barter towns, digger forts, trade outposts, farming villages and any sprawling slum cities which might exist in the area. Likewise, this balloonist has memorized the details of the terrain below their vessel, including the rivers, old war zones, ruin sites, swamps, impassable mutant forests, and treacherous mountains and badlands.

  • From left to right (Conrad Forsythe, Eitana Velocico, Priscilla Sauveterre, Rhys Jin, Quentin Pryce, Harmonia Sinclair, and Augustus "Gus" Renoire).
They come from one my stories *Parallels* and all seven of them are the main characters, hence the "Parallels Gang". (I don't have an official name for their group yet, so I'm sticking with it for now.)
I don't want to share too much of the story, but it takes place in a parallel universe in the distant future. The airship on the left is Priscilla's and is named the Barracupid. It's the main mode of travel the gang use to get around. The city in the background is a floating city called Collisia, which resembles a familiar city.

  • I attempted OCtober in 2018, but never finished the month. Day 7 was Frelia.

There isn't much to say about Frelia: she was originally created for a closed RP set in a fantasy/steampunk setting and was part of a clan descended from dragons. Frelia recklessly charges head-first into battle and usually refuses to retreat. She has an aversion to technology and dislikes the idea of flying on an airship.

  • The Royal Researcher, a form of scientist hired on by the 'King and Queen' of the Commoner monster kingdom. She holds herself high and strong with confidence and a near unbreakable will to keep pushing further into her field of studies. Fearless, she travels in her own Airship and takes on tasks that usually brings her out into the field where even hunters can fear to step foot in. While at the same time has proven stubborn and will refuse to leave her line of work even when the very area is under monster attack. While not being hot headed when Nature's monsters interrupts her studies and/or new discoveries, she is very calm, collected, cunning and a well thought person when in conversation. Very knowledgeable about the lands of Valgustra, she isn't shy to become an open book on any (and I do mean ANY) topic large or small, important or useless in nature though will always decipher just whom she is speaking to to know where to limit herself on giving out particular knowledge to a random stranger. Bearing a strong raw power over the gravitational pull in the form of a powerful magnetic field, she is able to effect the world around her near or far and even apply this ability onto others should she see fit to display her abilities.

Despite being seen as a very reliable and sawt after ally, when behind closed doors she can easily lose that strong headed demeaner of hers as while others may see her as valuable and important, she truly believes it's due to her knowledge that the people seek and without that, she is overly looked. She keeps her persona of being a powerful woman which she now doubt is, but she lacks great self-esteem and doesn't see herself as desirable. Often times she will daydream into her random fantasies, often loving to sing and even dance when she truly believes she's alone but will internally die should she get caught doing so--which a certain furball of a skeletal hunter is quite good at doing on her.~ Though this also leads to things being thrown at him if he, himself, isn't the object being tossed about. While she doesn't see her own value in herself, she does her best to aid those in need, even if it puts her in highly dangerous situations in doing so which she usually goes in with a plan. While not fast on her feet, she can out-maneuver many runners via rolling up into a ball and rolling out with great speed. Her back plating is made of a extremely hard carapace that allows her to roll around at great speeds over any kind of terrain, though this ability of hers can also lead to a few downsides like the local kids using her as target practice with their bows and she not even notice. What makes her highly dangerous to others however, is her arcane abilities over the magnetic pull of the world around her.

Her carapace has many copper-based spikes that conducts the shocking element at will and not only influence those around her with a gravitational pull but also all kinds of conductive and magnetic metals that lurk under the earth's crust. While a harbor for such raw arcane control, she chooses the life of a researcher as she doesn't want her secret status of a highly powerful Ancient be at risk of being discovered via living the life of a Monster Hunter. While living most of her time in solitude, she still has those she calls friends living across the land--though most live the frozen lands of the North in the Hunter base of Snowdin. Least she still has her radio to get into contact with any of them, or vice versa, during her travels in her love of discovery and have tales of which to share.

  • **[Image:** Pact Marshal Trahearne and Commander Yuri Six-Cants contend with Mordremoth, at the heels of defeat. The Dragon commands earth and sky, with the moon, clouds, and airships looking like toys in its coils. It sinks its teeth into Trahearne as he raises up the legendary sword Caladbolg, intending to drive it into his own heart. Yuri climbs up the Dragon’s maw and catches the blade by its edge, before he can do the deed. The sword is raw and splintered, and cuts deep into his palm. They look at each other for what seems to be the last time. Yuri weeps.

Maguuma and the Pact watch from beyond the brambles. On one side, there are the Mordrem: A Vinetooth, a rearing Teragriff, and corrupted Faolain, joined by an unsympathetic Lastborn. Faolain averts her eyes, looking uncharacteristically small and resigned. The Lastborn doesn’t flinch as he watches.

On the other side is the Pact and its allies: Captain Logan Thackeray, Caithe, and Commander Atropos, along with her hawk, Sappho. Logan’s expression is brittle, while Caithe’s mirrors Faolain’s. She grips her dagger tightly. Commander Atropos watches with resolve.]

My piece for the [Commander of Your Heart zine](https://gw2zine.itch.io/commander-of-your-heart). This was such a blast to be a part of, getting to see everyone’s pieces develop over the last few months and learning about their relationships with their Commanders… I only started playing Guild Wars 2 in ~May of last year, and yet the community has been so warm and welcoming to this newbie. Thank you for bringing me aboard, it was a pleasure and an honor!

As for this piece… I originally wanted to do something saccharine-sweet for Valentine’s Day, but Heart of Thorns won in the end. It’s been living rent-free in my brain since snoodles and I finished it last year. I’ve been acting accordingly normal e.g. constructing elaborate Trahearne AUs and putting Commander Yuri Six-Cants into situations, which is outside the scope of this description, but if you want [you can see it all here](https://m0r1bund.com/guild-wars-2/).

  • Yes, I wanted to do one of Bowser, since he's on the list of who I want to do for this crossover. And I'm halfway done with the crossover, too (I plan to do 20 total).
While Bowser and the Bullet Bills were pretty quick to finish, the airship made it take longer. HSR typically has human or humanoid characters as playable, so adding a character like Bowser would be out of place. However, because I'm only doing characters that inspire me and Bowser is one of them, it felt necessary to do one of him. Also, splash arts typically have the character front and center and bigger than everything else, but because of how I planned the composition, I had to shrink Bowser down and push him back; I didn't want it to look like he would get hit with the propellers.

  • This is a concept for one of the three largest airships which are part of Ruen and Ziren's (my main characters) world and story. This one is the Ka'on, build and owned by Ziren's homeland. The others are the Baryon (Owned by Dacae) and the Hadron (owned by Aeterna).

I forced myself to finally try my hands on giving form to something more tech/vehicle related. I feel very uneasy drawing technical designs. But since they ARE part of Ruen and Ziren's world I will need to learn this at some point and get familiar with the feel of drawing such stuff (,:

  • We fought a group of sidhe who were trying to steal our airship last session. We weren't able to defeat them, per se, but they did end up leaving after they couldn't take us out as quickly as they'd hoped to.
