HOPEFULLY this will be a start of a small series of MvA blockbench models; i already know how I want bob to look like in my head. I'm really happy with how doc turned out here; I'm sure of it was an official DreamWorks or Minecraft model, he'd probably look more like... Ugly or something, but this is always how I stylize him c:
At some point I'll probably pull out some proper reference images to get his colors a little more accurate, but I think this looks pretty good for what's basically a minecraft skin. I made his body a few pixels slimmer, so he's got a bit of an Alex model going on with his arms and legs. Otherwise, his body height is the same as normal player models, ergo it's once again his head making him taller. The antennae were both the fun part and the worst part to make - it kinda just perfectly fell into place, but Oh My God The UVs. this was my first time doing a blockbench model, and I kinda just laid the uv wherever it would fit instead of laying everything out ahead of time and instead of using a transparent UV (very bad!! especially when he has a lot of pure white in his design OTL)
I'm really happy with his head tbh - like i said earlier, I know an official model wouldn't look like this, and would probably separate the eyes more or something to really "other" him, but he's cute like this and that's what matters to me ! also the way his head looks is pretty much based off the model in my head of him; if you ever see how I draw his head, you'll see how i draw his mouth area - i think of it kinda like a screwed up snout... which if you think abt it is _kinda_ what it is... Anyways yeah monsters vs minecraft c: less of a thought experiment of the monsters playing minecraft and more "oh god I'm in The Game Now, what is a creeper" exploration. also the hugh laurie soundfont in my head said "Mine Cr(o)ft" in the doc voice and that gives me dopamine.
Also i have no idea if I'll be able to make these functional in the game but I really hope so!!!
this is my thing for the anniversary lol
