Today, 29th of November 2022, is the 100th anniversary of the formal description of Inostrancevia, a species of gorgonopsid. I painted this to commemorate the occasion.
Gorgonopsids were predators with saber-like canines, long before it was cool.
The one in this painting is Inostrancevia alexandri, a species that reached about 3m in length with the skull about 50cm long.
