_Limax maximus_, literally "biggest slug", is among the largest of keeled slugs. They have a very distinct mating ritual lasting for hours in which they end by suspending themselves, entwined, from a long and thick strand of mucus, evert their translucent bluish white reproductive organs from the side of their heads, and exchange sperm through the entwined organs. Both slugs will go on to lay hundreds of eggs.
