Within the weirdass nebulous force technomancers tap into that is the Resonance, Moni has a digital doppelganger that reflects and projects all of her absolute worst fears, anxieties, and self loathing for everyone to see- Fault is a direct manifestation of that self hate, and for a time actively worked to push Moni toward self isolation and a pursuit of power.

Suffice to say it didn't last this way for long and the two, one way or another, wound up actually talking **** out- enough that the more violent of their interactions all but ceased.

New developments, however, came by way of Fault coming into her own/near completely diverting from Moni's mannerisms and personality- and in the extremely complicated dynamic of dating your resonant doppelganger.
