Until today, I'd never heard the whole narwhal song XD I only knew it up to "cause they are so awesome" and that was that. I've now been cultured and I'm not sure I'm better off. XD Is it common knowledge that the narwhal's "horn" is actually a really weird tooth? Still seems like there isn't a single agreed-upon explanation as to why, but it's thought it could be for mating displays (as usually only males have the "horn" tooth) or it could maybe used as some sort of sensory device. Whatever it's for, it's not necessary to survival, as females do just fine without them. ...and no, they do not spear their food on their tusks. XD **Like what you see?
