Character artwork for my first D&D (Pathfinder) character, Percival Higgins (Percy among friends).
This was way before Critical Role (and I have yet to see the first campaign myself, so no relation).
Percy was an orphaned dwarf, fascinated with fire since his orphanage burnt down.
His noble parents gave him a nice upbringing, and he became obsessed with magic at an early age because he knew all great wizards also were known to have huge beards, and being a dwarf, he would grow the mightiest beard of them all. There is a direct relation between a man's beard and his magic, and Percy was all about creating those huge balls of fire!
A dumb backstory and nontypical character, but that's how I roleplay. I like to play untraditional and even idiotic characters, but play them seriously. Percy was not about comedy, but he was a really fun character to play and I miss him dearly.
