- Description taken from my tumblr post -
A quite large piece ft a northern olyrm riding their juvenile mantleoid
+ Some info about the relationship these 2 species have formed over many lifetimes
I wanna do more digital watercolor pieces like this soon. though its a bit older and my style has started to change a bit. I still think it holds up.
- Due to their large size in adulthood, mantleoids are only ridden during their adolescence.
- When they reach adulthood they still stick around in the large grassy outskirts of settlements even though they're free to go
- This lures young mantleoids in, who will be seeking shelter and safety in numbers. Creating a perfect cycle of new mounts for orlym to use
- The two species are greatly mutualistic, and the mantleoids fiercely defend the orlym while the orlym do the same for them.
- Mantleoids live exclusively in the northern-plains regions where there is enough open space for them to herd, and large trees for them to eat from.
