This one was based off of the one from Smokey & the Bandit 3 and yes I know that Movie didn't do so well due to not having Bert Reynolds in it partly because he'd didn't want to do the 3rd Movie after working on the 2nd Movie and your gonna have to hear the whole story from the Critics since they did their research on behind the scene of the 3rd Movie and that Universal was going to make Buford T. Justice the Bandit but the Idea was scarp and they made the Snowman the Bandit since they figure that it was best to have the Idea where the Enos are making a bet with Buford and have the Snowman to make things more fun for them by tricking Buford into thinking that the Bandit was back.
