Holly is such a relatively simple but beautiful plant, all sharp edges and few colors. I've got two holly trees outside my apartment windows. They're a huge favorite among neighborhood birds when they've got berries, and I enjoy them too for their bright colors in winter. :> Neither they nor the southern magnolia also visible out my window lose their leaves in the winter.
