malroth day is coming up and i've been feeling a little anxious about it! in the two years prior, i've had ideas drafted and worked on well in advance, and this year i have no clue what i want to make in celebration yet. a lot of people who are around now maybe haven't been around since i made this account in like 2020? and so maybe don't know the vast improvement my art has seen from then til now. in fact, in 2020 i wouldn't have even called myself an artist. but the whole reason that i even wanted to make an internet presence and really push myself to draw more in the first place was because malroth and dqb2 put so much into my heart that needed to come out! and nowadays look at me. i can draw whatever i want, even if it's not good, because i'm used to trying, and the result makes me happy which is the point. but i swear whenever i try to draw mal, i always struggle and it never comes out the way i want. and i want him, more than anyone, to show that growth that i'm so proud of! but. like. that attitude does me no good. so here's a collection of malroth sketches I've been working on this week!

1. day 63 of my line-a-day, digital painting using only one brush (the writing is in another one)
2. day 58 of my line-a-day, the first one from this series chronologically. a mal sketch i forced myself to just drive past the initial one that i hated and playing around with some screentone brushes i've meant to try at the same time.
3. day 61 of my line-a-day - working hard to get ready for malroth day!
4. day 62 of my line-a-day - i will get closer to my ultimate goal of the perfect high five drawing and nothing will stop me!! been thinking a lot about how much my art has grown but how i haven't taken any steps towards the whole reason i wanted to draw in the first place lol so. here we go! back to basics
5. a sketch that my friend Mel told me I could color ages ago, and I used to warm up this week :) you can find the original here: https://www.tumblr.com/keepchangingandneverstop/709021500972449792/day-66-pleased-about-the-new-weapon-the-builder?source=share
