In this universe, Superbia is a Selkie who's pelt was stolen by a slaver, who forced him to stand guard over an enslaved harem of female Selkies. Superbia was bound to his command, but was eventually freed when the "Ferryman of the Sea" launched an attack upon the slaver's ship. Although the captain of this ship fo the dead could have easily claimed Superbia's soul for herself, she instead returned his pelt to him, freeing him and his kin. Moved by curiosity of this captain, known as Morgühn, Superbia pledged himself to her service.
