Today's prompt is insect, and I decide rather than worrying about what insect to make this out of, I would make an insect-like sweapon instead, and thus, the Mantis-Blade.
Inspired by a similar weapon from Elden Ring, It's basically a cleaver that unfolds into a sickle-ish longsword for extra reach, and of course it should be dual-wielded.
Its hard to see, but by the furry bits you can see a red metal ring, which is how I imagine you'd pull to activate the spring-loaded blade extension.
