Oh beast oh beast of silver and pain
Do you even remember, your once true name?
I heard it was beautiful, sparkling and pure
But now you grieve of silver with no cure

-
This was for the arpg Anathema of my boy fighting a corrupted mage whose body has turned to liquid silver and black bone. Overall, I give myself points for composition and heck of a lot of points on that silver as I've never done liquid metal before and it was one flippin of a challenge! *pats self on back *
Anyway, I also hate this piece at the same time because I should've angled the monster better. The way it is now is dramatic yes, but details do get lost and I don't think I handled the lighting as well as I could have. I'm still also learning how to draw someone 'using' magic. Zarbaun, the warrior mage here, though he's great with a sword, he currently doesn't know how to channel his power into the sword to strike with it and use it like an arrow to make sure his lighting hits the target. Right now, his sword is often, more or less, a glorified lighting rod that stores lighting within the blade itself but he has to hold the sword and channel it through his body and then release it through his other, free hand...with next to zero for control. In the arpg world of Anathema...Zarbaun is very much still weak as dirt. He hopes to gain strength, but he also needs to discipline himself better so he's not just going ham wild like the boar he's often known to be.
ANYWAY, I at least gave this a good heave-ho but will try for a better composition next time. This monster is dying rather quickly so will probably have to try my battle tactics next time a mage is corrupted. Hopefully I'll have learned another thing or two by then as well.
