Favorite birds from the 2016 Decembird art challenge, I did all the days but only fully painted and uploaded some; consider it the highlight reel! From 2016: "Bearded vultures are unique among birds (and animals in general) in applying their own “cosmetics”, using iron to dye their feathers the signature red-orange color. Despite this being totally awesome, I was only able to find one reference image of what exactly this “bathing with water/dust heavy in iron deposits” might look like, so hopefully this is even slightly accurate."
