Here's a drawing I made of my gijinka of Benjamin from Animal Crossing! So, Benjamin is moving off my island, which made me quite sad since I had grown very fond of him. He's not a popular villager, and some might label him as "ugly," but I think he's so adorable and sweet, haha (I personally love his eyebrows since mine are thick as well, lol). While Benjamin was on my island, he talked about bugs so much. I also saw an image of a millipede held by someone in a library with the caption, "He yearns for knowledge." I figured it'd be in character for Benjamin to read to any pet insects.

I'm about to go on a rant, so bear with me. Perhaps I feel so connected to Benjamin since he reminds me of myself as a child! I used to read to my mother's pet birds growing up. On top of that, I am enamored with slugs, snails, millipedes, pill bugs, earthworms, caterpillars, frogs, and even jumping spiders and tarantulas! One time, I was late to grade school on a winter morning since I was trying to melt frozen puddles to save earthworms (I did successfully rescue a few).

Last fun fact and arachnophobia warning: Some species of tarantula will keep a frog in its burrow as a form of a mutualistic relationship! The tarantula will protect the frog from predators, and the frog, in return, will protect the spider's eggs and the spider itself from pesky insects! While I am fascinated by spiders, they still sometimes give me the chills in real life if they're large enough, lol... I'm more afraid of giant male mosquitos than spiders...!
